I can't believe they got past that kink in the rail. This makes me feel old.I saw a caboose on every freight train growing up.

We're talking NP/Early BN Era rail made for smaller stuff like GP units, so it's no surprise that they made it through that cause it's also jointed.

IIRC, optical zoom lenses will also cause any kinks or deformations to exaggerate in the recording.

@@freebrickproductions | I assure you it's not an exaggeration, it's built like that for a gentle curve. Much like how you would bend two small straight HO track connections to make it a slight curve without putting in a full on curve piece of rail for no reason.

@@Subpowerzero66 I'm just saying that zoom lenses can sometimes make track look worse than it is.

It's cool to see a caboose on a train even if going backwards, especially free of graffiti. Best video I've watched all day.

Nice to see the caboose still worthy of a little TLC and paint. Here in the Chicago area as long as they can still roll and pass inspection they can look like refugees from the scrap yard.

Nice! Yeah the PNW used to get away with a lot when it came to equipment, and even locomotives. But now seeing a roughed-up BN caboose here is considered an absolute crime by BNSF now.

GREAT VIDEO !!! I would actually volunteer to help scrub off any graffiti or tags that showed up on that caboose !

Shouldn't the guy gotten off, flagged the traffic, hopped back on. Maybe some lights would have improved visibility on that dark day...?

What? There's no need for a flagger cause A. There's literally a crossing with a bell and LED bright red lights either direction (protected crossing) and B it was 1:30 pm which was still mid day and bright out...
