Great demonstration. I am installing a Soupy's lowering link set on my Honda CRF 300L this weekend. I already lowered my Kawasaki x300 Versys with great results!

I cannot imagine weighing 135 pounds. I weighed 185 when I got married 50 years ago but today I weigh 269 down from 300 not long ago. I weigh almost exactly two of you. I wish I weighed 185 again but I will not likely ever visit that weight again. My little Honda CRF 300L carries my fat butt very well. Your's must fly!!

The reason that soft seats are less comfortable, is because you body is meant to sit on the Ichial Tuberosities. The little lumps you can feel when you are in the sitting position. That is what you sit on on a bicycle. A soft seat puts pressure on nerves and blood vessles that were not meant to have pressure on them, As a cyclist you understand but most motorcycles just don't get it. The right firm is the way to go.

I have appr. the same weight and inseam lenght. I took off about 20mm of the seat foam and increased the edge radius. This helps a lot. I also installed a lowering link to compensate for a stronger K-Tech rear spring I installed. Now the rear suspension is no longer too soft, the sag like it should be and the seat heigth is much nicer.

You need a lower seat and a drop link on the rear suspension that would help mate that’s what I did to mine and I pushed the forks up one inch it all helped,or you could buy the LS

Feel like I'm going back in time. We used to do the same thing to the '01-'02 CR125/250's when we raced. I'm 5'6/5'7 on a good day. 30" inseam. We'd shave the seats and remove the subframe plug weld and relocate the the lower subframe mounting hole. Sometimes you'd have to shave the radius on the subframe a bit but when I was racing I was 165-170 and with ideal sag the shaved seat and lowered subframe made the bike way more manageable. Sub'd to follow for updates. Looking to pick one of these up and curious how your adventure goes.

Thank you for doing this video. I wonder how this seat height of 300L rally "feels" compared to CRF250L. I asked because I rode CRF250L during a beginner dirt bike course and I was OK with the seat height. I'm about 5'8" 160lbs with 30.5" inseam. My heart is set on ordering a 300L rally for light "adventure" and overnight camping trips alone but I want to be sure I can "handle" the seat height comfortably. Now uncomfortable questions: How many times have you dropped the bike because your foot couldn't touch the ground properly? :-) Thanks.

None, but did drop the bike on a ride in the rain/mud. You just have to do the flamingo thing and you'll be ok.

you figure since these bikes are made in Japan where the avg height of a man is 5'7" they'd make bikes slightly lower than they do.

Excuse me, CRF300 RALLY circulating in Europe/Asia And CRF300L RALLY circulating in the United States The difference is "L" are they the same motorcycle just named differently? I'm thinking of ordering a chair cushion with an American chair cushion maker But I can't confirm whether it is the same specification

@@gray5857 Lowering the rear is easy, it is just a lower link should only take 15mintues. Front if only sliding the fork leg up the clamp is also easy and take 20mintues. If going into the fork internal than that will take several hours.

We're pretty much identical in height, but I have a slightly longer inseam, I think I have a shorter torso and longer legs. How do you feel when coming to a stop at traffic lights for example? I've never owned a dual sport or adventure bike before but I've been eyeing the AJP PR7 and 300 Rally.
