Croydon is technically part of Surrey and it and the surrounding areas, including south London and spilling over into Surrey, had major crime problems in the 80s and 90s. Croydon's nickname was "The Cronx". A play on words of The Bronx. The Daniel Morgan Murder brought to light an area absolutely rife with organised crime and police corruption. A number of paedophile rings were also known to operate in the area, including the one behind the disappearance of Lee Boxell, together with the Sidney Cooke gang who had a base there. The notorious Shirley Oaks children's home was also nearby and had been infiltrated by paedophile rings since at least the 1950s. The notorious sadistic paedophile murderer, Brian Field, committed at least one murder of a teenage boy in the 1960s in Surrey and is suspected of others.

Interesting to see Croydon mentioned again. That area where south London spilled over into Surrey had very serious problems in the 80s and 90s. The Daniel Morgan Murder enquiry shone a light on serious organised crime and the most appalling police corruption in that wider area. In addition, several paedophile rings were known to operate in the area. The notorious Shirley Oaks children's home has been infiltrated by paedophiles since the 1950s. The infamous Sidney Cooke gang was also known to operate in the area and in addition, yet another local Surrey paedophile ring is widely believed to be responsible for the disappearance of Lee Boxell. The sadistic paedophile murderer Brian Field murdered at least one teenage boy in Surrey in the 1960s and is suspected of others. Of course, there was also the racist murder of Stephen Lawrence in South London too. Croydon gained the nickname "The Cronx" back then - a play on words with The Bronx.

Yes, on 23/4/1968,..he strangled and murdered 14 year old Roy Tutill. There is a documentary on this evil crime on You Tube. Very likely he coaxed 13yo Ddavid Spencer and Patrick Warren into his car on Boxing Day, 1996 in Chelmsley Wood, B'ham. They went missing, Field was living in nearby Solihull at that time. And in 1984, Mark Billington went missing from his Yardley home; he was discovered several miles away hanging from a tree, nine weeks later. Field lived nearby.

@billy chalk I would *NEVER* under any circumstances, cooperate with -corporations- organisations, which could lead to a possibility of myself being framed/targeted/misrepresented owing to my involvement with them. Police are nothing but a public liability, and are specifically there to enFORCE the will of _another_ -corporation- - sorry - ""govern-ment"", that are "there for your own good, remember?" One, tiny human error over the course of centuries, should be ALL that it took, in order to consign police as "legitimate", to obsolescence. Yet, they are *STILL* here, portraying themselves as "proper" and "the right thing to do." In short, they are corrupt, unlawful, and a fraud. And they don't like the people they are coercing money away from, following the very example *that they wilfully choose to push on to people,* back on to them. They are firmly NOT WELCOME as part of a harmonious civilization.

Yup... He gave a lift to them both and continued to drive on with her. He was living nearby in Margate at the time and buried her in his garden there, along with the cut in half body of the girl from Edinburgh he transported all the way down South.

@@interstat2222 Very close to where I live-I can remember the choppers flying over in 2007-it was quite surreal.

Interstat The other girl was called Vicky Hamilton and she was from Falkirk. I live about half an hour away from the church where he murdered the Polish student, Angelika Kluk in 2006, and remember it being plastered all over the national newspaper and on the news. The reporters were saying they were looking for 'Pat McLaughlin' (a name he was using back then) and Tobin's picture came up on screen. That's when it all started to come out and eventually unravelled to what we know about him now.

She was good I thought, Jill Dando too, Fiona Bruce was always very calm and upbeat too, Kirsty Young was the one who always looked like she was shaking with rage....

@@lw3646 I found Kirsty Young’s constant accusatory stance very irritating. In addition, there was all of that strutting about between those ridiculous Perspex screens with the sheaf of papers and pen which she never seemed to use. The constant stating of the obvious and the over-repetitive, “you know what to do”, “do the right thing”, “call the number on the screen now” etc. was very tiresome.
