In terms of her relationship with Spencer, I never liked how the writers did it. One moment she's nice to him, then when Spencer becomes himself (prattling off excitedly about something he's interested in) JJ shuts him off rudely. Like, the others aren't exactly in the mood for that all of the time and sometimes are like "Reid, not now", but JJ's snappish attitude when she doesn't want to talk to Spence sets me off.

Dunno if JJ was a “mean” girl but she was definitely a popular girl. I remember there being nice and mean populars in my school. She doesn’t remember tormentors which means any that she had were minor, not full on bullied. She also says “guys like you” which shows she didn’t associate with the nerdy, unpopular groups, as well as being a football star in her school, yeah I believe she was popular even if she wasn’t “mean”

Nah, she was definitely a mean girl. People who don't like down on the nerds and geeks just call them by such, understanding and using the label as strictly descriptive. JJ didn't use these terms because she sees them as beneath her, instead going for the much more insulting "guys like you."
@sunkara8158
Жыл бұрын
@@Y20XTongvaLand nerds getting bullied is a fact of that school system (Reid told about his own bad experiences) so her specifically saying she probably went out of her way to be nice to the kids who were usually the most bullied groups isn’t all of a sudden a contradiction of reality. Plus she grew up in a small town that probably gossiped and bullied her about how her big sister committed suicide. Remember her saying in North Mammon episode how she never put a finger out of line and focused all her energy on being the perfect student to get a scholarship so she could get out of there. She might have been beautiful, popular and athletic but she doesn’t have to be a bully because of that.

Horizon Peter and Sophie offered her a soccer scholarship and she studied criminal justice in college. After testifying in her stepfather’s trial she changed her name to JJ and got a job in the BAU. So no, not a mean girl just a girl who was dealt a mean life until she got strong enough to overcome it all.

When she said "guys like you" I don't think she meant that in a condescending sense. She simply meant that she moved in a different circle, and Spencer in another. She said it matter-of-factly. And you don't have to be "mean" to have no tormentors/bullies. The world isn't black and white. So yes, maybe she's a mean girl, but I don't think she's one of those who are just outright bishes. At most she's mean in the sense that she's indifferent.
