I don't think he would be proud of his grandson ripping his Exodus album cover, putting his face on it, then sampling one of his songs to make his own song. The cultural significance of Exodus is completely disrespected by YG. People don't know anything about Bob Marley and the movie they made was horrible, it was a shameful excuse for a Biopic. Bob taught people to pave their own way and to fight the oppressive forces without force. YG disrespects that message by copying not just the Album cover but sampling the song CRISIS... this is not Rasta.

Its sad really. People are so easily influenced but no one is influenced enough to truly learn and engage with a culture. Im a white guy from the states but have a Jamaican godfather who has been Rastafari since the 70s. He told me the story of Haile coming to Jamaica and how Rasta isn't a religion, he would always say, Religion is for a people, Rastafari is for the world. That stuck with me, I don't claim to be Rastafari but I live amongst and deeply connect to the message. I don't eat an Ital diet, I don't have a patois and I don't have dreads but my heart is free and so is my mind. We are all children of Jah and this is our home, our brothers and sisters. Lots of men and women want to deny myself or others because of their skin or geographic location but are so quick to "praise jah" and shout Rastafari. I don't be mad at them but it does pain my heart to see the true message of Rastafari and Bob going over people's head.
