On this day trip, you have a 4-hour 'mini-cruise' each way with about five hours on the island 'Otok Silba'. What's on the island? Not much, going on next to nothing - which is everything to some of us. If you want a headbanging party scene, forget it. If you are able to appreciate peace, tranquillity, the ultimate chilled laid back experience then this could well be for you, as it was me. An added bonus for a 'tight' old guy like me is that it is a whole day trip that costs next to nothing. The Jadrolinja Ferry, Route 401, government-owned so subsidised, costs 26 Kuna each way - approx £6, €7, $8 (US) return. There are also catamarans from Zadar, Pula and Mali-Losinj - much quicker but you lose the 'island cruising' experience. I have used the Pula - Zadar catamaran, which stops at Silba, convenient but not thrilling.
