Hi Tuula. Thank you for this beautiful pattern…I am not very experienced, so I try to understand WHY I do each step instead of just doing it…it helps me a lot. For this pattern it took me a while to remember not to chain 2 after the first cluster in a row. Then I figured out why…because the chain 10 has 2 unworked stitches at the start…which counts as the 2 chains. I was over the moon when I got it! Maybe this will help someone who is like me🙂

On this video I'm showing how to make the rectangular shape although this is not the exact same stitch, you need to add the picots and one chain more in between the pixels. kzitem.info/news/bejne/sHqj0nels6Z7qagsi=Ct4b2ocWdtc-q2Ot&t=524 Maybe one day I'll make a video of the exact stitch in rectangular.

Do you have something covering the bottom part of your screen? I went through the video and didn't see anywhere where the stitches I work with wouldn't fully show except in a couple of spots where it dips down when pulling the yarn through in a picot. Which part of it doesn't show to you?

I would really need to make a different video showing that. I have shown it on a video where I make a very similar C2C but without the picots, I wonder if that would help you. I'm linking to the stop on that video where the decreasing starts. kzitem.info/news/bejne/sHqj0nels6Z7qag

Dear Tuula ~ i'm always charmed by your videos and enjoy learning from you. How many skeins for this shawl? I look forward to your videos and travels! Kind regards from Portland, Oregon USA
@TuulaMaaria

Thank you so much! The finished shawl in wool weighs about 200 grams (7oz) so depends on the size of the skeins. Heavier yarn would take more, mine is sport weight. Very light one takes less. Greetings from Finland!

Dear Tuula, I just fell in love with this pattern...but I would love to use it for making a Summer-Jumper..out of rectangles..rather than a triangluar shape....So my question is..can you make the same pattern but in a rectangular form?...have you already made a video out of my request?... I do have multicoloured cotton yarn..and just want to make a rather rectangular jumper you can use over whatever light t-shirt you are wearing..when summer nights get chilly....the pattern should look interesting and lacy and should not be all that much see through...so this pattern is just brilliant here...but I need to figure out how to make a jumper out of triangles..? ...so I hope you can give me some tips..or direct me to one of your already existing videos... again my Question is..SAME PATTERN..but in RECTANGULAR FORM... Thank you so much...bless you ...Seleina from Germany :)
@TuulaMaaria

That would work well for a jumper. I have the lighter form of thie C2C stitch where I also show how to make it rectalgular. That can quite easily be adapted to this one with the added picots. This link should go directly to that part of the video where you start decreasing kzitem.info/news/bejne/sHqj0nels6Z7qagsi=F8MUmttjhQqz8ikG&t=506

It's a wonderful scarf, i think this one will be mine! I'm looking for a long time to find my preferred pattern. Thank you so much for sharing. Please would you give me an exact indication for the last straight edge? 💯 Thanks
@TuulaMaaria
2 жыл бұрын
Great, make one 😊 The last edge could be done in a number of ways. One way is just do it exactly like every row. Or then could leave picots out. Or if you want it straight, an easy way for that is to ch2, single crochet in a picot, ch2, sc in chain loop and repeat that the whole way.

Yes, it can be done rectangular by ending the increases. I have this video about a lighter C2C but without picots. This link goes to the part of the video where it starts to make it rectangular. kzitem.info/news/bejne/sHqj0nels6Z7qagsi=USlmBybPgONCcwG9&t=524

Hello Tuula, how do we make the upper edge of the shawl with a straight edge? Thankyou😊
@TuulaMaaria
8 ай бұрын
I have done the last row without picots on the top side and then made a row of chains jumping from one stitch to anther, having enough chains in between so it doesn't pull the top tighter. I don't have any of the shawls with me now so I can't check the number of chains. You can also make the top edge more solid by adding a row of single crochets into the chains.

One complete shawl how much yarn need ?

Depends so much on the yarn you are using. The thicker yarn, the more you need. In Double knitting weight one shawl, height from the tip 65 cm weighs 200 grams.

Yes, I normally block more or less everything I make. Depends a bit on the material you use. All types of wools and cottons need blocked. I hardly ever use acrylic so I'm not sure about it.
