This is the best! Thank you!! I’ve always heard “never crochet into that last stitch” “it’s not a stitch” It appears to me that’s what makes that awful gap in circles. I stopped making hats in the round because of the seam and mainly that darn gap! I really appreciate you sharing this with us so very much!

I love the way your camerawork is so close in to enable us to follow exactly what you are doing. Size of needle and yarn is not important because of proximity of camera to your work. The written instructions and explanation about diagram patterns is the first time I “get” it. I appreciate the way you explain very slowly and repeat just enough times for newbies like me to understand. Good job!

That has always been the problem for me if I try to follow a video - they just aren't close enough and often they go too fast. I'm so grateful for your attention to these details. One of the best detailed straight seam video. I looked at several, many good ones, but for some reason they didn't work for me. Yours is very slow spoken and for us new crocheters, very helpful. Even though Im a new one in this field, I am very strict in having my work done neatly, so that seam was driving me bunkers. Thank you for sharing.

You've got a great technique here and I appreciate you taking the time to share with the public. If I could offer some advice, it would be easier for viewers to see what you are doing if you used a bigger hook and yarn. Also I appreciate that English may not be your first language but maybe a quick brush up on 'standard' crochet abbreviations. Where you've been writing 2dc tog I've usually (90%) seen that referred to as a decrease. 2dc tog or dc2 tog, 2dc dec, dc2 dec. I know everyone has their own way but just a heads up. I have used this technique for circles for years and they always look great, always hold up. Thank you for a well thought out well planned and clear video. Loved your blackboard!

Can you help me understand why you use a chain two for a turning chain with the double crochet rounds when in the last video you used a chain three for a start of double crochet rounds. Also, why do you join the slip stitch into the first double crochet in that first round and not into the top of the turning chain? I also don't understand how you sometimes count the turning chain as a double crochet when finishing the round, but have said in other rounds you don't count the turning chain as a stitch. I find this so confusing. Thank you.

Loved your tutorial. I make Amigurumis and even through I know and work the correct increase process, in a Magic Circle, I find that my first 3 rounds are puckered and the work does not lay flat. I've tried not carrying the tail so that there's less thickness in those first rounds, but that hasn't made a difference. I've tried working a little loser, but that hasn't helped. The work still has a pucker and somewhat torpedo shape. I'm at my wits end. Can you suggest something please ? Thank you in advance. Ginny

In each round you just add one more dc before each increase. For instance in round , you will crochet 10 dc and then 2 dc in the next stitch ( a total of st in each repeat).

With this method you make your last dc in the same st as the starting ch2 (which constitutes the last inc), then join in the top of the 1st dc (NOT in the turning ch).
