Climbing Low Birker Force, and scrambling on Crook Crag & Green Crag in Eskdale with Clare. Low Birker Force is a great grade III *** scramble in Eskdale. Access isn't great, but a fun enough river bed leads to a superb route beside the waterfall.
From the top of the falls it's a nice walk to take in Crook Crag and Green Crag. This not only ticks off a Wainright, but gives great views across the South Western Lakes. There is good scrambling to be found here to too (II **), but it's slightly more of a mission to string it together.
Overall a fun day.
Remember Scrambling is dangerous. Ghyll scrambles are yet more so. Scrambling beside a waterfall is yet another level of risk. Don't try this unless you're competent to do so and have the skills to look after yourself: my friends in mountain rescue value their time.
