I’m sure the ribbing is meant to draw the cuffs in, but mine isn’t at all even though I’m following it exactly. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong 🙁 I did 44 rows of chunky yarn (I now realise my error!) so not sure it’s remotely saveable, and might have to keep ribbing off? Any advice grateful, in terms of bringing to cuffs in smaller!!

@@edentyrpak4624 oh yes I get you now! This is how wide you want the shoulder part to be - so from where your sleeve will be attached to where the neckline starts to dip along the top line of the body piece (this will become the shoulder seam part). Best thing to do is hold this up against yourself when you've crochet a number of rows and check it is wide enough to be comfortable, or compare it to a jumper you already have that fits well. Hope that helps? 💚

For the decreasing of the neck, did you decrease in every row? Or did you decrease then a regular row then decrease?

Hey, yes you can change the size to fit you ☺️ I try to explain throughout in the video when you make each part, you can adjust the body piece height and width as you go and also the arm length :) To make the body piece bigger specifically you are going to want to do more rows for the shoulders and neckline part. Hope that helps!

I'm 5'4. Where would the sweater reach on my body? Will the sleeves be too long? I'm not sure how many chains to start with plus I would like the sleeves to reach my fingers. How long did it take to make the sweater? Can I add a hood? Do you have a tutorial on how to add a hood? Is there a way to add pockets? Sorry for asking so many questions.
@MadeleineShirley
2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I am 5 '10" so the number of chains I start with might be a bit long for you. If you measure from your shoulder to waist (or longer if you want) then chain that length to start for the body pieces that will adjust the length for you :) When you do the sleeves, you can again measure that chain from the edge of your shoulder to adjust to the length you want. You could definitely add a hood and pockets and I bet it would look great, I don't have a tutorial for that though! x
@angelroyal8632

I don't really understand the joining of the sleeve to the body part because my sleeves is 32 chains wide (counting all the V's on the inside of the sweater) I couldn't figure out how many to count on my body piece. I tried 46 like you said but the body was too big.
@MadeleineShirley
2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I think I get what you mean, basically its hard to work out how many stitches to attach it to on the body? You could try just lining them up and adding some stitch markers/ clips to hold the body and sleeves together, then working along gradually checking its not straining or bunching as you go. It sometimes works better that way than counting a specific number of stitches anyway, at least I have found that with some projects! Hope that helps x

@@cassandrarudolph1307 If she is pretty skinny and you are using a heavier weight yarn, I would reduce the number of rows you do for the shoulders and neckline part proportionally. You could measure it against a current jumper she has and wears if that helps. Then to make it a bit shorter and keep it as the crop style do less initial rows for the body piece to make it the length from shoulder to waist. I would also make the total length of the sleeves a bit shorter. I think mercerized cotton will look beautiful! Hope she loves it 😊

Hey and thank you 💚 The number of chains to start the body pieces are to fit you, so you want to start with the length from the top of your shoulder to your waist or where you want it to stop. Hope that makes sense. The video should let you choose English subtitles in the bottom right hand corner ☺️
