You helped me realize that I was railroading too far from the stitch. Railroading as close to the stitch as possible has really evened out my work. More importantly, this video has given me a better ‘twisty sense’ of my thread. This seems so fundamental to cross-stitch, but I rarely see it mentioned in foundational videos. Thanks for the inspiration and skill level-up! 🍄

Had no idea the colour order would make such a difference. Will definitely be working light colours first from now on. Thanks.

This is the only video where someone has plainly explained what they mean by "cross stitch tension" - I keep hearing "Keep your tension right!" but I have not ever been able to find examples of what "proper" tension was - turns out it's a super simple thing that I've been doing already (thankfully!) but I always wondered if there was more to it than that. Mystery solved. Thank you!

regarding your last tip, I wonder if stitching the white first looks better because it is inside the dark color. what happens if you reverse the colors (white outside, dark inside)?

As long as you do the white first that’s the key thing!

Is it okay to have gaps? I sometimes get gaps when I stitch and I don't know how to fix it :(

For the tip in not pulling the thread too hard, just remember folks: "Taut", not "tight".

Do you have any tips when using silk treads, I have to do a big project and it doesn't really give me the neat effect, I don't pull to much or anything but even then mi stich feels not clean
