This is fantastic! Yes, the less volume of people setting makes it a better experience to do workouts and engage with others. It's why I don't attend Crossfit Games (did 2yrs in a row, incl VIP and staying in RV park) or WZA anymore. They've gotten too big (WZA too big for the venue) and Games too many people in crowd for the money and time spent. Can't sign up for community workouts surrounding the competitions bc they fill up within an hour or less after registration is open. Just become another proverbially cog in the crowd, so to speak. That's why moving forward I choose to spend my time and money at more engaging, lower crowd settings like these. It's more rewarding.

Street parking is og CrossFit. You recognize fellow members with shirts, we have a virtual "leaderboard" (posting on social), and we care about the community over everything. SP doesnt need dei because it is just like old school crossfit was. Come in, be a good person, be a part of the community and dont be an asshole to ANYONE. Thats real dei and when its baked into the core values you dont need anything else because everybody follows that code. I can't agree with you more. Street Parking is doing some amazing things and seems to have more of a core mission and set of values that once was present in CrossFit until the Games began to "in my opinion" deviate the meaning and purpose of helping people go from sickness to wellness. While the games are fun to watch they don't truly reflect what I see in my local box every day. I have a lot of respect for Street Parking and how they are helping people come together and change their lives.

The main difference between CF and SP is that nowadays CF is "selling" a product (as Don Faul defined it, and this is awful because we as affiliate owners and trainer are selling a service), and SP is selling a "why you should be grabbing a DB and do snatches". Simon Sinek talks every time about this difference. CF is selling a WHAT and SP is selling a WHY. Glassman created CF as a way to fight against globo gyms and some people followed his why. Don Faul and Eric Roza just had the money to buy the brand but they are not leaders, they do not teach, do not inspire, do not have a "why", Glassman used to fight against NSCA and big soda companies because they were (and still are) poisoning medical sciences, Glassman inspired us (not sure all of us, I am still inspired by his videos from early 2000). What is Don Faul doing? What did Eric Roza actually did? They just had the money to buy the brand and called themselves CEO and told us "we want CF to be bigger", this is ridiculous because every affiliate owner wants this to happen and this is not enough to run a company that is selling a revolution in the fitness industry. SP is selling a revolution to someone who is scared to walk into a CF gym because all they see is games athletes, SP is talking to normal people, CF is unable to talk to them because our CEO is just a puppet that has zero passion for WHY CrossFit was born.

The problem is guys like Roza and Don are nothing but bad corporate CEOs bouncing around with no background in improving any company. The good thing I see from this video is that SP leadership has no foot in the corporate world and it shows in the success they've had. That's the way CF was run with Glassman and in my opinion that's where you'll find success. Roza and Don are in the hunt for the dollar while SP is on the hunt for members to share their belief system in fitness.

I’ve had bicep tendonitis and various other issues with my shoulder. The beauty of Street Parking is that you can customize for yourself. I have been able to work out while dealing with: A shoulder issue Right after elbow surgery DeQuervain’s Tenosynovitis (wrist/thumb issue) Knee issues Ankle issues Post-appendectomy Post-gall bladder removal There’s such a variety of options beyond the daily workouts too, there’s pretty much always something you can do ❤

@@hillerfit I am thinking a combination of both. I used to lift heavy (at least for my size I think)when I was younger. It happened during a Spartan Race a few years ago I did not realize anything was wrong until a few days after. Went to physical therapy did some band work it helped but been kind of living with it. I can still bench as long as I keep my elbows in proper alignment (use a smith machine) and military press on machines. A lot depends on my hand rotation during a pushing movement not sure if that makes sense. Its not as bad on a pull (lat pull down) I do feel it pretty good on cable crossovers though. Constant movement helps I think maybe its breaking up any scar tissue? Looking for a solid brace. Anyway just looking/getting into the CF (been a gym rat mainly). I am more of a purest and prefer form over function which may not be great for competition but like how CF seem to be more utilitarian in movements maybe I am wrong.
