This week's WODprep 24.2 Strategy Video is brought to you by RX Smart Gear. I don’t know why I didn’t see this yesterday before the 24.2 workout . It would have been so helpful. I’m new to CrossFit (less than 2 months ) and Ben’s tips are super helpful although right in the moment is hard to remember everything and for me , coordinating the moves is even harder but very helpful nonetheless. I still can’t do dubs and my deadlift weight was 75lbs , meaning I didn’t even to masters but it was still fun . Thanks a lot

Great rundown on transitions, a lot of athletes do not realize that 2-3 seconds on each transition will lead to a minute of lost work time at the end of the workout. This is going to be a great workout for those who can be disciplined with pace. Even the best athletes were only rowing a 1:43-1:46/500 pace. For athletes that have good doubles (im in the 200ish range unbroken) you suggest going unbroken? I was hoping to go unbroken on DUs and "rest" on the rower, always unbroken on the deadlifts.
@WODprep
6 ай бұрын
I rowed a 2:10-2:15/500m and still got 9 rounds plus 3 reps (813 reps). I went SCREAMING fast on the deads and dubs. I think going fast on deads/dubs and "resting" on rower is a great idea!

Thanks for the video. My dub capacity is not to 50 currently. I can do the 50 but it tends to wear me out and loose form. I was thinking 30 break then 20… Also I second the comment on the rower, can you stop towing at say 280 then get your rollover cals to 300?

You didn't mention the timing of the last pull each round on the rower as regards roll-over meters. It looks like you can just stop pulling before you get to 300 and put the handle back in the holder and sit on the rower until it rolls over to 300...? Can you take your feet out before it gets to 300? (I'm thinking not.)
@ericjp72

The rules only state you must remain seated until the rower gets to 300. So I believe your strategy is ok.

Double knots are good but not too tight, some people like me have feet that will swell and hurt like crazy... so it's better if my shoes are not tight but still double knotted so they don't come apart.

Yeah, looks like an even better setup is having the rope between the barbell and the rower. As long as your barbell doesn't roll around, that's better so you don't have to step over the barbell

5 ounce is pretty heavy. Can you do one double under at a time? (not unbroken?) if so, which rope feels easier to get one? Use that one, and just chip away one rep at a time.
