I have been up and down that stretch of I-5 many times and have seen the tracks, but never any trains. This is a great video to show what the line typically carries and get a good sense of the terrain it goes through. Thanks for the many hours and trips it took to capture the video and share it with us.

You’re welcome! I enjoy getting out to find the trains…because like you; in so many years, I’d never seen one here either! It’s definitely a labor of love:)

What a master of the art of train videos. I’ve watched about 10 in the last 3 days. Keep the highways out of the shot. One minute I see mountains and endless fields of color, then we turn 180* and an interstate highway appears. It crushes the ambiance. It’s like heavy metal music at an out door wedding. 🙀 What I was searching for in my astonishment at the low hits was talking to your compatriot railbirds doesn’t do anything for numbers. They’ll be there hell or high water. You’ve got to draw from a larger group. East of the Mississippi is game. Selling on the meditative properties will work, with less dialogue, louder engine rumble, and soothing clickety-clack. I’ve found more music on the other your vid’s. You should have 100,000 just from the East coast. I am die hard railfan since birth. My grandfathers stole an entire train in 1862. Almost got away with it. You could re-audio some of the video’s for trial. A beautiful girl with perfect diction would be interesting. With promotion it would attract 10,000’s+ If you’re set, don’t care about #’s, just keep on, keeping on. Your work is exquisite, art, breathtaking. Thank you. You are an artist! 🌈🍀🌝🌞✅

Just fantastic, Jeremy! I didn't think there could be a steeper, more crooked mainline than P&W's Toledo Branch, but here we are! And shoot, I didn't even realize the Siskiyou line had re-opened after the fire damage to one of the tunnels years ago, so this is a real treat. Thanks so much for all the time you sacrifice to make these videos, Jeremy. I'm looking forward to the next installment!

I believe the tank car is their water car. A nozzle on the side will spray water to help with fire control along the RoW. I’ve seen other videos with it in-use

This is such a beautiful railroad. The scenery is so very dry these days, though. I realize it's winter/spring and that the deciduous trees lack leaves, but there are a lot of dead ones in this vid, too.
@pacificrailproductions5281

The leaves would have blocked the view at my favorite spot where the tracks are close to each other above and below. Also I forgot to mention, during the summer and fall months the train runs at night.

I noticed that there is still alot of un-welded rail. Is this due to the revenue not fully there?
@pacificrailproductions5281

The route since the final decades of SP control has been secondary and even mothballed at times. The traffic hasn’t risen up. So you’re right. With more traffic would come those upgrades.
