As a Crossmen Alumni ('79, '80, '81) it makes me proud that both corps continue to carry on a tradition that was started back when I marched. I was there when they lost their equipment truck back in '79 and helped retrieve the contents. Both corps were on a journey to California. In return, when our buses broke down in the dessert of California, Spirit came to our rescue by letting some of our members ride with them. In '80, we were traveling at night after a show when just ahead of us was that unforgettable accident that took their famous hornline instructor, Jim Ott's life. It was a sad summer but it did not stop Spirit from rising to the occasion that year!

Such a great tradition, I'm so glad to see its still alive, and hope it will go on and on forever! Crossmen really should keep Hallelujah in their books as a lot tune forever and ever as well!

I wish there was a video of us doing this in Midland, TX from 2001...that was one of the first years we started doing this and that night in particular it was epic...we would play together 3 or 4 times a year then...part of the reason DCI has strict rules on playing after shows in the lot

@2525franci Learn some corps history before you slam this event. Spirit and Crossmen have been close ever since the California tour in 79 (I think that was the year) when Spirit's semi rolled over and Crossmen helped them pick up the pieces before their gear was destroyed. Crossmen have a member award called the Spirit award....Spirit has a similarly named one for Crossmen.
