I actyually knew hester pretty well (I was going out with his cousin for a few years) and he struggled with bi polar for most of his life. The one thing about him that i always respected though was that he almost lived his life as a challenge to the disease and made every day count. A trully beautiful guy and I treasure the afternoons I spent jamming with him in my loungeroom. RIP mate you were one of a kind

This is such an incredible song. I have listened to it countless times. Be thankful for what you have and realize the difference of happiness and pain is only one foot step away. Life really is fragile and temporary.

This brings back memories of driving down to see my Grandpa, we would sing along to crowded house and sometimes fall asleep. He wasn't the most liveliest grandparent, but he had stories that would really open my eyes. I'm really happy I can relive those moments by listening to these guys, thank you crowded house :)

Neil Finn is one of the greatest songwriters ever. He is up there with Paul McCartney and just a select few others. And out of all his magnificent songs, this particular ballad beats everything else. The pinnacle work by one of the greatest musical geniuses ever - no less. Great video too.

God this song feels me with so much longing for something better, a better life, more fulfilled existence. Seems like childhood and early adulthood was so much better but even then I was looking forward to something similar to what I'm looking forward to now, namely his Kingdom come when all of our longings will be fulfilled.

Four seasons in one day Lying in the depths of your imagination Worlds above and worlds below Sun shines on the black clouds hanging over the domain Even when you're feeling warm The temperature could drop away Like four seasons in one day Smiling as the shit comes down You can tell a man from what he has to say Everything gets turned around And I will risk my neck again, again You can take me where you will Up the creek and through the mill Like all the things you can't explain Four seasons in one day Blood dries up Like rain, like rain Fills my cup Like four seasons in one day Doesn't pay to make predictions Sleeping on an unmade bed Finding out wherever there is comfort there is pain Only one step away Like four seasons in one day Blood dries up Like rain, like rain Fills my cup Like four seasons in one day

"Four Seasons In One Day" is a 1992 single released by rock group Crowded House. It was co-written by Neil Finn and brother Tim Finn, originally intended for their debut Finn Brothers album, however was moved onto the Woodface project as the two projects amalgamated.[1] The song is written about the city of Melbourne where Crowded House originated from, as it is commonly known as being a city of "four seasons in one day".

I must agree with you in part. When these guys first came out, I was a kid, and I thought they were the beatles at first because they have very similar sounding songs. Neil Finn' voice sounds a lot like Paul McCartney and the profoundness of his lyrics reminds me of John Lennon. Awesome song!. One of my favs along with "Into Temptation", "Private Universe", and "Don't Dream it's over".

Here because Crowded House was Mum's favourite cassette to play in the Escort on the way down to Cornwall. This song definitely refers to the natural clinging we humans tend to have to our most desirable emotions. It also reflects how nothing can be forever, this includes happiness, vitality, etc. and that everything happens in a constant flow of change and everything in the past loses it's importance. Hence the line... "Blood dries up..."

"Smiling as the shit comes down" So true, basically don't give up no matter what comes your way. "Sleeping on an unmade bed, finding out where ever there is comfort there is pain" No one is ever truly happy, the trick is to find a balance, and accept life for what it is. Take it one day at time and live life to the fullest. Who cares if you don't make your bed every day, don't let it ruin your day.
