The way that he starts the song is stunning.... the emotion is still there.... this still tears his heart out. The beauty of this song is the sheer honesty of it. All of us that have been down that road know exactly what he sings... no way I could have found a better way of putting it. Love... desire....doubt...remorse....unforgiven ...and the guilty get no sleep....

Very well said. I love that little exhale he does right before the song starts, a subtle thing. I've always loved the emotion and passion that Neil sings with, one of my favorite things about him actually.

In my youth I heard this song only once on the radio. I didn't know what it was about, I didn't know who the artist was because I didn't understand English then, but this song grabbed me and stayed in my mind. When the internet appeared, I found it only in the words - "the guilty get no sleep"! Great melody and lyrics!

This song is magic and very deep psychologically. He sings about the ways some of us fall 'into temptation' by physical and other superfisual/fake attributes Narcissists use to seduce and control their victims. He clearly went through this and made a beautifull song about his experience.
