Thanks, Mr. Kay! I learned a lot about my "special" from you. Mine may be a hybrid though because, although the lens is a S-K Special, the body has focal plane and lens shutters. The lens' top speed is 1/500, but the focal shutter's top speed is 1/1,000. I have the camera because I brought it home from the high school where I used to teach and plan to take it in for a CLA so I can return it to the school (where it was shut away in a cabinet since the '60s) and teach the yearbook staff the history and use of the camera that their predecessors used.

I have a Graphic Model 3 GRAFLEX SLR too! I believe it's a 1906 model. It has a Focal-Plane shutter with top-speed of 1/1200th of a second and a f5.6 13.5 CM Goertz lens with pre-set f-stop. Also a 6X9 CM Century Graphic. We sold the Graphic View II many years ago and replaced it with a Toyo Sinar P clone for the better movements. Last month, it churned out about 550 4X5 Fujichrome transparencies for a major sporting goods supplier (bowling equipt., archery, fishing, and more) for next year's catalog, and twice that many 8X10 Chromes and that is my year's income, and a VERY good one. If you're over 60, you may remember Ansco, DuPont, and ADOX films and papers. Defender, ILEX, Pathe are for the really old guys, but I've souped them!

the tilt also had a second function, to enable wide angle lens use, that is 90/75/60mm lenses, as these were soo wide you saw the focus bed, so Linhof , Toyo, and these use a 'drop_bed' design, you rack the standard to the rear stop ( or in linhof's to the storage rail) then drop the bed, tilt back to the STOP, then you can focus without seeing the bed.

NO, that red button / battery set is for a magnetic shutter release, inside the front standard, this button closes the circuit, refer to the Japan vintage camera video on this camera.

No if you go to 16:12 in the video you will see the red button lights a light for focusing. Thanks for watching.

@@MrKayFisher sorry, my bad, another speed graffic that looks similar to this, as JVC has in his review of it, in that one, there is a simmilar red button, and in the same location!- got the two confused.

I took my camera to Walmart, then CVS, then Walgreens, then Best Buy all camera places after watching this video that said you can take it anywhere to fix. Very misleading.

Where is you BODY (shutter) RELEASE??? If the camera is STOCK and original there SHOULD be a cable release from the trigger on the right side of the body of the camera to the side of the lens mount with an "L" shaped metal lever attached to press the lever on the shutter body to release the shutter. I don't see the cable in your video. It runs along inside the BED of the camera next to the focusing rail so as to be protected. When I was 12 1/2 (I'm 68 now) I took my first wedding solo with a Crown Graphic and a Stroboflash II electronic flash. I think I took 54 sheets of 4X5 Tri-X Pro(3 Graphmatics) and made 54 8X10 enlargements on ANSCO ARDURA "Y" Silk finish Paper. My Daddy and older sister were at another wedding, double booked mistakenly.

Wow some more. Mine did not come with the cable and fitting for the lens for the built in release. I didn' t get my first camera till I was 15 and it was a Brownie Starflash - see kzitem.info/news/bejne/xY162olraZaliW0
