Thank You for the video! I purchased a Crown Power Line 3 amp and had some issues with the IOC. One of the IC packages needed to be replaced in the comparator circuit. You are not kidding when you said the Crown is a different beast to wrap your head around. Thank you again for the detailed video.

Wow!!! That was brilliant. I own this amp and its still working, maybe not as well as it should. Thanks, I learnt something even though I am not at all a technical guy. However, I'm possessive about this beast and it powers my 4410 A JBL monitors. Thanks much my friend.

You're right, Andy. I put in a NE5534. After reciting a list of TL0XX op amps, where the 071 was a single and the 072 was a dual I got myself tangled up. Nice catch!

Most of this stuff is old school. These days most people are using Class D powered speakers. Lighter, cheaper and more compact. You still use gear like this? For performance or DJ?
@xzVice

@@raygianelli3612 yeah but class d are harder to repair, and cost more... for now i just bought all of it to have it, because i wanted my own audio system, i am not doing any business with them..., all class H amps anyways: generalmusic/lem energy 3, lem dpa 2.K, electrovoice q66, and for the speakers 4 jbl m350 and for the mids 4 jbl m355... i am still looking for 2 subs, to drive them with the energy 3, i bought it for 250 euros, i thought it was a good offer, until i took it home and powered it on, a mess... took me some days of work, had to refresh all of the solderings... and i also replaced the thermal paste if you want to look up these amps you can find the service manual on elektrotanya, or hifiengine, old style italian amps, from the 90s

Quick question, you said in the video that the opamps where TL071 and you put in an NE5532, that must be a slip up cos TL071 is single and NE5532 is dual ! so was it a TL072 originally ? great repair of this beast !...cheers.

thanks for your video, I am able to get one, is the PSA-2 a musical amp for home audio ?
@raygianelli3612

While designed for professional use, they can be used for home audio. Usually the issue is noisy cooling fans, but IIRC the PSA-2 doesn't have one.

What, and get two easy ones in a row? My luck doesn't run that way! Looks like there's a bad temperature sensor on one of the NPN modules. Fan runs flat out all the time. Not an issue in a pro audio situation, but you wouldn't want it in your listening room.

@@raygianelli3612 i've got a jvc integrated that i was sure would be an easy one so i put it at the front of the line. it has been back on the shelf 3 times now, this time it is at the end of the line. i have the luxury of working on what i want, when i want. customers usually come first but that depends on who and what and they understand that. 😀

you should actually show the repair not just tell what you did ... also the green led's are to show you got signal going out (flash on the music) when volume is high enough the reds are protection indicators and the standby is just that they come on when the amp goes in standby you can select that on the back panel with a switch to make it go in standby automatically when no signal comes in and most high power amps are this way my T-amp E800 works the same way but the format yoy do is not very useful you should show what you do and what you replace and why you replaced it and actually show the troubleshooting

Yeah, I figured the LED scheme out after I got started on this beast. I'd never seen one before. It's not really feasible to show all the repair steps and still keep the videos short.
