Since seeing this comment, I have found out there are several experiments that show very positive results. Here are some that I noted down, for anyone interested. BMJ 2017 done by NHS & Bristol Uni. At first they thought it wasn't cost effective. They used 100 adolescents with mild - moderate ME/CFS & put them into 2 groups. There was a significant difference in group who completed LP, plus decrease in pain & depression. They concluded it was cost effective & no adverse effects. 2015 (not sure where) 12 adults with severe headaches. 9 reported significant pain reduction after 3 months, increased quality of life. 3 remained the same. Another experiment with 205 who took a specific questionaire, scientifically recognised. This showed a significant improvement in the areas in the questionaire including MS, Low esteem, OCD, & addictions. I'm not sure if this was through the MS Resource Centre, or that was another one which reported "encouraging" results, "worthwhile", "measured benefits". The ME Association, who currently do not support LP, did a survey. The figures I heard were CBT 2.5% GE 3.5% LP 25% ie 10x more people said it helped them than said CBT helped. The LP themselves report 1,297 no longer had issues which was 76.6% & 85% were improved. I was curious that Patient Surveys could say 0% when I personally have friends & myself get better. Which surveys please?

@@MK-co6uf how strange you say that when elsewhere I've told you my story in other answers. To give you examples - from bed bound to cycling in a week. And my social worker nearly fell off his chair when he heard I was on holiday in Europe, having not been able to do anything for years. And I've replied to you elsewhere that a number of my friends successfully did LP in late '00s. You may want to call it brainwashing however to go from 14 years of severe ME to health in a short length of time, is great however it's achieved! And for me, brainwashing would never work! Do you not know about neuroplasticity? So I'm now curious about your reasons in thinking that kind of transformation can be achieved by brainwashing. Did you try the course & it didn't work, so you want to protect others? Or did you learn it unofficially & don't want to believe any of the positive stories you've read on here? I understand that we could all have been put up to it, as you don't know us. I actually can provide proof - letters from medics etc. However, I wouldn't put them out to any stranger as they are very personal. I'd have to trust you first. And maybe you don't want to believe it's a genuine treatment?

This 'sympathetic' state is a parallel to the catch-all problem of subluxation promoted by the cult-of-chiropractic ... a make believe boogey-man that they throw everything into... except the sympathetic nervous system is HIGHLY MEASURABLE ... so where are the measurements in LP?

The Lightning Process gave me back my life and most of my friends' from M.E. For some reason some of my friends stopped using it, and got worse again. I would say 60% got their lives back. I do find it complex, and it takes me a lot of determination to stick to catch all the parts, and respond. I know it makes some people worse, so it is a big decision. One friend of mine said she would do it very gently. As it is a process that you either do fully or don't do at all, she got worse. From looking at what happened to my friends, I came up with a few things that I think make it more likely to work. I told those to everyone, and it was up to them whether they followed my advice.

Could you give a description of the technique, for those of us who cannot afford the course?
@escapeyourchains5730
2 жыл бұрын
@@Fresh-qc3zn It isn't possible to do it any justice in a message - to summarise 12 hours of a course into something that would get you great results. There is the technique and there is all the times you need to do it - learning when is essential. Also learning your own version of the technique is important. I recommend you try the book and set yourself 3 days or a week aside (I had to do it all day long for the first several days and very often for weeks after - not everyone has that need). It is essential, in my opinion, to immerse yourself into it to make the most of learning it. Also I recommend a mentor, cos once or twice you may find yourself with fatigue again and that is a make or break day. Those who do the course once a week for several weeks, seem to find they need to add other strategies like diet, meditation etc to it. The difference to my digestion & and how well I absorb nutrients, after one week was amazing (without giving you TMI)! I dropped my special diet.

So how is the lightning process going to change the nervous system? Structural injuries? Glial cells? This really, makes very little to no sense, not really. CRPS is a highly complex, misunderstood disease which will require far more than positive thinking or speaking to "fix" it. Reducing stress is great, but this a reach at best....
@chantellebaxter8471
6 жыл бұрын
It's actually not a reach at all if you deep dive into neuroplasticity, epigentics and start to understand how our thoughts are turned into chemicals which impact every area of our body. CRPS may be highly complex and misunderstood, but doctors DO agree that it's an issue with the nervous system which is directly affected by our brain. Change the brain, the body will follow. The Biology of Belief (Bruce Lipton) talks about this - You Are The Placebo (Joe Dispenza), Mind over Medicine... The Best Last Cure.. The Lightning Process is far more than just 'reducing stress'.. it's healing your whole life, and in turn, your body heals too.. I know because I've been doing CRPS for the last 2.5 years and I'm 95% better in just 8 months after doing it.. I'll be 'cured' within the next 12 months.

Glial cells are sort of involved. But pretty much, when you are anxious/stressed any negative state, this is bad for the body. Stress and the anxiousness is the most toxic thing for the body. You have learned anxiousness and stresss on a subconncious level. The LP teaches you to breal these patterns and retrain your nervous system. Its all to do with neuropathways and synapses..

LP is now officially mentioned in the NICE guidelines as something that should NOT BE DONE for ME/CFS.. Now, finally, Phil Parker (the founder of LP) risks to be prosecuted for scamming people for years. This is a real story about ME/CFS and the lightning process scam from Reddit: “As someone who has M.E. and has been a victim of the lightning process, this guy basically takes CBT therapy and then markets it as a weird cult… When you first look them up, they never tell you what the process is and keep it very secretive, they tell you it's because if someone hears about the process and tries it with a pre-conceived judgement then it wont work, because you need to see the presentation in order to understand it. Then when you go to a consultation with a practitioner, they either tell you that 100% of patients recover or that 90% recover and the other 10% just aren't doing it right or do not want to recover. Then they say it has cured people with Diabetes, cancer, whatever they feel like on the spot. so if you've been diagnosed with any chronic illness and are finding it hard to accept being told there is no cure and this person is telling you there is but you have to pay £800, of course you are desperate, you will pay. I was a child when this happened and i knew it was a scam from the first moment i heard them but my mother was so desperate for a cure she begged me to try it. I went in with an open mind and suspend disbelief desperate to do anything that would make me better They then put you on a long intensive course over the weekend where they show you pseudoscience about the brain being able to reprogram itself through positive thought. Then give you basic tapping on your fingers and saying STOP, I CHOOSE to live the life i want! , stuff like that… Then they replace your language, they tell you that Chronic Fatigue is something you are DOING, not something that is happening TO you. They tell you, you are not allowed to ever say the word "tired" They tell you when you feel bad, to shout "STOP!" and walk around doing this circle ritual repeating positivity crap and choosing to stop "doing" M.E. Then they ask you from 1 to 10 how are you feeling, they ask you before doing the process and after if you say you feel the same as before, they will make you do the process again, this can go on forever, after a while you become frustrated and say a lower number just to get on with it. They take this as proof of it working. Then as time goes on, you do the process every morning, every night, every time you feel tired, every time you're in pain, and then when nothing happens, because your physical illness can't be wished away with positive thinking, you go back to them and they tell you that the process works. The only reason why it's not working for you is because you're not trying hard enough, or you don't really want to get better. Telling that to a child is so damaging that many kids from around the world have tried to kill themselves. It made me believe that my illness was my fault, that if i'm the one "doing" this then I hate myself, i had a decade of suicidal depression after it.”

Jamii, I'm so sorry your housebound. Life is not supposed to be this hard. So limiting, but I have hope to share. I've started breathing exercises. Bought a massage chair ($90) to sit upright totally relaxed while I shut off everything mental but breathing slow deep until resting then stay in chair training my brain to stay shut down until you rise. Mentally celebrate afterward with a pat on the back. Setting a schedule to sit in my massage chair every two or three hours for about 15 minutes wether I think you need it or not. It's helped enough to be encouraging for me. Maybe try this to cope for one week and see if you have any good results. Best, April
