I really like these effects tutorials, they look awesome, and they've taught me a lot about fusion

And yes. Anything one can do in AE should be doable in Fusion. It's just the nodal things that trips people up in the beginning.

Hello and thanks for the awesome tutorial! Is it possible or can you turn this crt effect to mask it so it only show on building? In other way.. is it possible for examble replace Burj Khalifa lightshow screen with own video using this crt effect? In burj khalifa there are many thin lines and the lines create image to the whole building.. so I think your crt effect can maby used to replace Khalifas screen. Maby green lines over the building and green screen, masking and tracking and replace own footage under green lines? Can you try it and maby create a tutorial for that? It would be amazing :)

Does this require a lot of vram? Apple m1 16gb here with unified memory. Ram and vram shared

watched a begnners vid on fusion in general. was able to figure out where i was going wrong. for some reason, when i use the routing you use, my merges dont come out right. i was able to get the right kind of merges now.

You are the best, man! The trick with the alpha channel switching to RGB is really smart!

I would probably warp it to have the rounded CRT glass feel and glow the result to make it more like glowing phosphors. Maybe a slight reflection as well... But man. As it is. It does look more convincing than I thought it would.

I would probably make this initially and then in the process of composing this into a scene then add those other effects.

the pixels are far too big, they would only look this way if you are about an inch from the screen. At normal distance the image should just look like a lower resolution version of the original, there shouldn't be a noticeable difference in brightness or anything

Great video, is there way to get the CRT pixels moving without moving the footage?(because the mediaIn node is connected as a masks)

@@JayAreTV I'm having trouble with the masking part with the media In. I want to apply this effect to the whole timeline but I can't seem to find a way to do so. Sorry to bother haha
