@@wiggilytaco7570this is literally how my 22 month old is acting now. This evening, he refused to eat dinner, so he sat in his high chair and threw a tantrum until I was done eating. His pawpaw was mad the whole time because my son was crying, and normally he gives my son whatever the heck he wants like candy, cookies, junk, milk, etc and then my son refuses lunch and dinner. I also never get a chance to sit down and eat like a normal person because I have a 2 month old as well. I’m not going to let his pawpaw control my son anymore. Right, that's exactly what I'm doing! I don't have kids yet, but I definitely appeal to the "semi-crunchy" lifestyle because I care about the environment and my mental health, and I'd want to apply it to my kids when I have them. But I couldn't even imagine having the energy to be this strict, when a lot of my and my partner's reasons are rooted in cost efficiency. Like we'd be using cloth diapers/pads, dryer balls, reusable appliances, homemade medical remedies (this one is also cus Herbalism is my hobby) etc etc more so because of how much it saves us. And we'd have our own mini orchard, beehives, garden, chickens, so on because it's food from the backyard. So really it's mainly just breaking from the system and being independent rather than being hyper-aware of what we're ingesting.

Tbh my sister had these really cute cloth diapers, they're actually made like diapers, same shape, but they seem better. The baby never had a wet bottom. You could smell the pee but it was never wet. She just rinsed them out in the laundry sink and put them in the washing machine. Rinsing baby poop sounds gross but you're a parent. Gross is your life now lol. I've laughed at like 90% of what she says but I gotta say I support the cloth diaper thing.

Disposable diapers don't get you out of the baby poop touching either. Everyone will experience at least 1 shitnado or shitcano. However I fully acknowledge not every is privileged enough to have laundry facilities in home and can afford to run them daily. Not all care facilities accept cloth diapers either and not all families are supportive. Out of all the battles to pick I say let this one slide. I do wish people knew that it wasn't very hard or dirty though because they are expensive and I feel terrible about parents rationing disposable diapers because they can't afford pampers but don't know how or about cloth diapers. They don't stink anymore than a pamper, they clean easily and with delicate skinned babies they seem better tolerated. Heck got a nasty rash starting..slap a cloth diaper on during the day so it can breathe and it'll be gone so fast.

@@evil1by1 Yeah that's what I meant when I said you're a parent, that means your life is gross now, you'll get every fluid the human body can produce on you. You have to deal with human feces no matter what so why create waste that is so insanely harmful that lasts so long? My sister just ran the diapers under the tap to get the waste off, tossed them in the washer and sanitized the sink. It's also far more affordable to use cloth diapers anyway and if you have a tap of any sort and some form of soap, you're good to go, that's all you need. Plastic diapers have to go. There's no reason to use them. You do laundry anyway.

When i had my daughter 30 years ago mom and i made cloth diapers like she had for me and i got this box of blue liners that were in a box like Kleenex. They made washing the poo ones easier. Most of the yuck came out with the liner. The new shaped ones with snaps look like they would be easier to use than cloth and diaper pins and plastic pants.
@jademoon7938

@@tenaoconnor7510 Yes hers had snaps on them and around the legs were a bit elastic. They were all sorts of pretty designs and patterns made from organic cotton and other sustainable materials. She just turned them inside out, dumped anything in there, and then rinsed them under the tap before tossing them in the washing machine. It wasn't difficult. It's not like it's some arduous task that took forever and could justify using disposables. They're a much better solution.

Swaddling is actually really good depending on the kid. It keeps them from hurting themselves in their sleep and some babies (according to my mom I was one) find it comforting like a weighted blanket.
