i cried when neru died, cried even more when ori died, cried when ori was revived, cried when neru was revived, cried when ori almost died, cried when ori and neru met again, cried when kuro died, cried when kuro's chicks died, cried when the flowers began blooming, cried when the egg hatched, and literally sobbed and blubbered while the credits were rolling. best game 2015

Hey guys, when I played this game, I noticed quite a particular detail about Kuro's feathers... They have tons of splits and overall look like a mess, compared to her neater appearance before her babies died. Birds tear their feathers out and are poorer with preening when depressed. Kuro was in a lot of emotional distress and pain through the entire course of the game, even if she managed to snuff out every light she knew before she knew of Ori. She was never happy after her owlets died.

I've beaten this game multiple times but that ending never fails to make me teary-eyed. Kuro and Naru are both great mothers and they show it with only their actions: Naru in her lumbering body would still brave the fires of a volatile volcano just to see her child again and Kuro can put aside her rage and her life for that of her own child. Even if it's a day late, Happy Mother's Day to Kuro and Naru, and all mothers out there that love unconditionally. I have a little happy thought about the ending that the egg hatches and the owl is now white and unaffected by the spirit trees light. This may have happened when Ori touched it in the nest and it glowed or when it was bathed in the light that killed its siblings, or both. It then grows up to become Shiro, the great white owl, guardian of the forest. P.S. Any chance you kept an eye on your death count Cry?

I was prepared for an epic ending, but I wasn't prepared to keep napkins close by. What a strike right into the feels. I have genuinely cried over some movies, just because they were really emotional, but over a video game? Never before. At least I can't recall any. And now I feel like a little wussy. Thanks Cry for playing this and thank you all who were involved into the development of this game. It's a solid 11/10 from me. It must be at least a GOTY in platformers section.

This game is amazing: beautiful, emotional, and with some pretty powerful messages about the damage hatred can spread and the bonds of pain, compassion, and family. My heart always breaks at that moment when Kuro realizes that she caused Naru the same pain she felt from losing her own children. I think that is when she understands how damaging her rage had become. Then to top it off, the hatred she felt and spread nearly cost her the only child she had left and was trying to protect (by fire, a common symbol of hatred). That was when she realized that she needed to set things right, even if it meant losing her own life. I swear, no amount of views will make me NOT cry over the finale!

I am not at all ashamed to say that I have very thoroughly enjoyed this playthrough. The commentary was perfect, the editing flowed in seamlessly, and the game itself, including the visuals, story, gameplay, and soundtrack was so beautifully and artfully done. There were really emotional and touching moments as well as sprinkles of just plain old adorableness which just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy :) I also personally liked that the game established that there is no true good or evil, which is a thought-provoking theme that I did not expect to come from a video game. I did not think that things would turn out the way it did. And I was very pleasantly surprised. Also on an unrelated note I got really happy when I saw Austin Wintory (composer for Journey's amazing soundtrack) in the credits. (Btw Journey is also an amazing game :) Definitely up there as one of my favourites. I'd love to see Cry play it sometime.)

A very old comment but I feel the need to point out Gumo and his people were portrayed as extremely intelligent. So more likely Ori and Naru would be trying to figure out how to gently transport it with pushes and tugs while Gumo is off in the corner rigging up an elaborate pulley system that requires at least 18 moving rock pillars for some ungodly reason.

Maybe someday, we can get something akin to a sequel. Not necessarily Ori theirself, as her story does kind of deserve the ending they already have. Or another Ori would be fine in my book too. But if I could only put my money into one thing, and I saw there was plans for a sequel, or a DLC type thing, or a standalone game even similar to Ori in it's visuals, and perhaps some of it's playstyle (and it has a good/interesting story to go along) I would put all my monies into it.

But there's one thing I'm not sure about about the ending... would Kuro's child survive in a world full of light? It survived before because it was in its egg when the spirit tree sent out its light, but what about when it hatches? Would its exposure while in the egg give it some sort of tolerance? That's one question that was left unanswered due to the game's minimalist narrative. It's still a wonderful, beautiful masterpiece of a game though.

Noah Fence Well, Kuro survived in a world of light before the events of the story, and for a while, the other 3 owlets did too. It was only because of the surge of light that they died. After the events that happened though, I'm sure that next time the owlet will be warned in advance, or something similar.

Noah Fence I think the reason the other chicks died was because the spirit tree sent out its light with full force to "contact" its lost child Ori. I guess there's no need to do that anymore, so the last one should be fine.

9 жыл бұрын
Noah Fence Kuro was unfortunetly cursed to be a member of a species of bird that survived mainly at night. Hence the whole being an owl thing. In the real world owls would have issues in surviving in the day so mabey ori made the baby into a pigeon. or mabey a dove.

It seems that a new version with extra content has been released so I'm pretty excited about that. Cry, thanks so much for making this series. The game is amazing, but you made watching it amazing. I can tell you had so much fun with it, and that made me have fun. You've definitely gained a new subscriber. Looking forward to binge watching more of your stuff!

One of the best game playthroughs I have ever seen. I'm in love with this game and that will always stands. I love you, Ori! You're too cute. ♥w♥

This was the most brilliant artwork and character design and game design I have ever seen in any video game and I have seen shit ton of video games I have to say this one is my all-time favorite. And I've watched you play Okami. Yet I find this game much better than Okami how is that possible

I'm really happy that you did this gameplay because it introduced me to such a wonderful game with a great storyline, beautiful graphics and music and sound (so good I'm a little overwhelmed) ! It's so awesome that I actually decided to try playing this (I don't play games very often either) so I thank you for playing this game :'3

Normally, I come to your channel to listen to you read stories because your voice is just so incredibly relaxing and great to study to. This is the first time I've had time to finish one of your playthroughs, and goddamn, man. It's so fun to watch you play. I had a blast watching this series, and I'm looking forward to watching your other series.

Everything about this game is a 100/10! Amazing, perfectly organized, the freaking cutscenes, the art direction like I'm running around in a graphic novel, the beautifully paired music, and then MLG Cry just making this more of a joy than I think I'd have playing alone. Best LP ever! :D

Fuck, that ending. So sad. Poor Kuro. The tree killed her babies, even though it was by accident, and she sacrificed herself to save the thing that tore her life apart for the greater good. I feel bad for everyone in this story to be honest. I feel the least bad for the tree I think.

I think this is the first game that has made me cry. I didn't really expect much out of it when it started, but man am I glad I watched this all the way through. Absolutely gorgeous all around. The artwork is glamorous, the soundtrack is incredible, and the characters are completely adorable. It was such a simple plot but so beautiful. Thanks, Cry, for playing this and sharing your experience with us. I feel like my life has improved simply for watching this. I would love to play it myself, but I'm atrocious at platform gaming, so I might get too upset to enjoy it. But wow. This is my new favorite game.

I have never seen a game that got everything right like this game did. Most games have that one thing that's missing, like the story wasn't up to scratch, or the controls are a little clunky but this.... Everything about this exceeded my greatest expectations.... Just so stunning oh my god I can't even begin to express just how perfect it was just.. Damn. Well done. Well fucking done....

Three days ago, I watched the first ten minutes of the first episode, turned it off, and bought the game on Steam. Needless to say, it was an amazing experience. I watched this series alongside my own game - play for a few hours, then take a break and catch up to where I was in your videos. I have never done that before, but goddamn was it worth it. And when I was having an anxiety attack yesterday, these videos helped me distract and soothe myself - without them, I don't know what I would have done. Thank you so much, Cry, for exposing me to this incredible game and giving me a wonderful experience to escape to. Ori is now easily one of my favorite games, and this series is easily one of my favorite Let's Plays on KZitem. Thank you so much.

I don't usually cry in games like this. I didn't cry in the last of us, the walking dead, child of light, Hatoful boyfriend, not a single one. I loved every one of those games and the crippling feelings they brought. This game was no exception, I did not cry, but the beautiful, mesmerizing art style and cinematography combined with the astonishingly well composed classical instrumental soundtrack was enough to send chills down my entire body and fully immerse my mind into a completely tranquil state of absolute bliss and vehemence. I feel as if that was an accomplishment superior to that of bringing tears to my eyes. I love games like this, games that raise the bar for every game out there, and truly embrace the fact that a game can be a work of art, and in this case, a masterpiece.
