Nice gear selection man. Could you weigh the vest? With no pouches and no plates. I'm curious to know the weight difference between the JPC and the AVS. I've wanted a JPC in ranger green for the longest time, but I can't stand the black coloured hyperlon shoulders they've used. If crye makes the AVS in RG then I might consider using that instead, if the weight difference is not too great.

I don't have a way to really weigh it. But, it's not going to be as light as a JPC.

***** I use a luggage scale like this to check my loadout weights. www.techychick.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/lscale.jpg Fully loaded, my loadout (1st and 2nd line) weighs 12.9kgs (28.4 pounds) so I'm looking at lighter carrier options. Though to be fair, that's with 9 ProWin magazines for my Inokatsu M4, and those mags weigh a ton so most of the weight is from them.

Julian Tang I'm not really worried about counting ounces like a girl. It's a light set up.

***** Haha cheers, your comment was actually pretty useful. How is your CPC treating you? My 6094 has been good for years, but when I have to wear it around for up to 30 hours at a time, it gets pretty tiresome; hence looking for lighter alternatives. Do you live in the States? I hear it's hard to get Inokatsu's there.

I'm all about comfort balancing with practicality (I think Crye products all do that fairly well, but some more than others). The AVS doesn't make sense to me anyways. Whatever, to each their own. I was curious about the AVS and now I'll get to see a review of it. So, thank you.

***** Well my purpose for it is not just for low profile. I'm a small guy and just running the skeletal cummerbund or normal ones is to big for me and the PC with flop around like crazy. Even if it's a size small.

***** I know I can adjust it. But even on the tightest setting it flops. Also, with the elastic cummerbund it does not flop and acts like a part of my body.

Most special forces use the kangaroo pouch as a knife holder because when you add magazines it covers it up making the enemy oblivious to the knife if they were to end up in a ground fight.
