Their version with the letter stamps is pretty slick as well. I'm also looking at the Swiss Hodlr disks

The biggest question for me is if it's worth paying as much as some of these options demand when you can get the cryptosteel capsule for much cheaper or even the Keystone tablet punch if you are on a tight budget.

@@CryptoGuide I have one for my backup. Its super high quality and it really is functional. Looks like some kinda alien artifact to me. It looks elaborate but all it does is store the first 4 letters of your seed phrase. Easy to set up and read. Another benefit is that nobody would know wtf theyre looking at unless they knew what it was. I love it! Very high quality product that not many people know about.

Not sure it or devices like this are worth the price premium that they demand.

Does the language of the wordlist matter? Assuming BIP39, can’t I restore in another language using the same numbers as long as the device is expecting the same language as the word list that I am using? As I understand it the words are just shortcuts to the index numbers anyway. Obviously if you are using something other than BIP39 you need to keep track.
@CryptoGuide

BIP39 doesn't just use the indexes but rather hashes the words themselves, so you can't just switch between the languages.

Thanks for the video. I'm not sure if I get this right. Let's asume my Cryptotag Zeus gets stolen. Is it correct that anyone could look up the BIP39 word list online and could then figure out the exact key phrase? …which would mean it is only a secure way to store the keyphrase from natural disaster (water, fire) but not from theft.
@CryptoGuide

That's right, though if you want to secure the backup then you can add a BIP39 passphrase and store that separately.

Just one thing it doesn't help to have written on the front crypto if someone found it a thief taking too long to work out what it is it would've been nice to put something fake on the front just to throw someone off the scent and discard- maybe could get it sanded of ?

I find that people are more likely to misplace their seed due to not knowing what it is than to have someone break in and steal it...

Am i right in thinking that if the cryptotag got stolen the thief can gain access to my account ?

Your seed IS your wallet, so unless you are using something like a BIP39 passphrase to secure the backup then anyone who has it can access everything.

@@CryptoGuide It is the address of an currency that I decided to buy and after the purchase I decided to transfer the USDT currency to another platform, so I put the address of the currency instead of the address of the platform

So you are saying that you got the address off something like etherscan and sent funds directly to the smart contract?
