Found you!!! ❤️❤️ I had a goat die and I have his full skeleton! Wanted to make it a little creative. I'm a little afraid to take on posing a whole skeleton but I'm also very excited

Hey ! Love the content! Just a couple things that might help , if you tie a lead fishing weight under the bug you can get a better submersion. And clear nail polish works best to seal these up with. Hope this helps!

You should tell us where and how to look for bones! I know near railroads are good for finding bones, but it'd be nice to know your process :).

This is difficult as laws change from state to state and country to country. You should check your local forage and animal handling laws and they’ll tell you the best ways to go about natural harvesting for your area

Yes! It takes color very well and doesn't fade like borax does!

Really really late to this comment so I’m pretty sure you may have found them but on Etsy the following searches will bring up some awesome stuff: ‘Vulture Culture’, ‘Taxidermy’, ‘Natural history’, ‘Oddities and Curiosities’. Usually you can get bugs and other cool stuff if you search up mystery boxes too 😄 There’s also mummification and diaphonization which is another weird thing if you like those wacky kind of stuff

Question: would the borax (idk how to spell it 😅) method work with the bugs as well or just this way?

Very very cool. If I get a big big I think I will try to just have the crystals grow on his back....like have the head and belly hanging out of the water. Looks really neat and I do love the crystals

Wow! They look so good! Two questions, tho: You think this works with every base material? I have an artificial cat skull I'd like to do this on. And what do you use to seal the crystals in? Some kind of spray?
@ourdeerlydeparted9215

It works as long as the surface is porous.If it's smooth they won't have anything to attach to. And I just use a plain matte coat spray! I showed it in my borax crystal video!

So I did this with a small partial deer skull and it didn't work so I'm wondering what went wrong...I used a 20 cups of water and 2 cups of monoammonium phosphate... did i not use enough ya think?

I want to try this with a skull. Did you ever try again? If so, how did it turn out? She mentioned 10 TB per cup of water.. 16 TB in a cup, probably needed closer to 12.5 cups of the chemical.
