@@MP-16productions by far my favorite Leslie Horn of all time besides ConRail my other favorite railroad that utilize that horn is the Atchison Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad most notably on the GE Dash 8 and Dash 9 red and silver war bonnet locomotives there’s not many original ones left in service but sadly almost all of them have lost their original RS-3L horns most of them have Nathan K3LA horn but there are a few of them that still have an original Leslie RS-3L

@@MarcF.Nielssen it was MODOT which said that was the average price. 11,000 - 22,000 for a gate is still a lot and they would likely also after to redo other parts of the crossing. It’s also clear to see that this is a branch line or a line with very low traffic. Installing major crossing equipment is way too much for a line that sees only a couple trains per day or week, especially considering there are thousands of crossings like this

I'm sorry I can't avoid find this flare thing ridiculous. The lights are blinking, the cars are stopped, the engineer walks in front of them, and the bell (another ridiculous outdated rule) is ringing. So why burn two flares that are going to stay there lit for nothing after the train has passed?

@@FreedomtowerStudios @jamessimms415 sorry I'm not a native speaker, don't know what "FRA Regs" mean. Would you kindly explain? I understand that this is mandatory by laws or regulations, that it has to do with safety. But it would be useful if flashing lights wouldn't work, road was empty, and train at cruis speed, with someone setting the flares well in advance, even maybe in the night. But lights are blinking, cars stopped, train also stopped right before crossing, bell ringing, and the engineer walking in front of both the car row and the train. It is impossible to see any situation clearer than this. Also the bell ringing is a rule that applies since the time first automobile cars started to move without horses and were seen as dangerous, although they were so slow (slower than horse pulled cars) and noisy. Maybe it's time some of these rules/regulations/laws were updated...

Yes and the SUV driver parked 10 ft from the train, way over the white line, is an idiot as well. How hard is it to reverse 20 feet back that he clearly had. Even if he didn’t, stick it in reverse and the guy behind you would almost always back up too. Or do a U turn and get away. All better options than sitting right there.
