For me one of the biggest reasons why I love the CTX so much is the way the Corona Caps ring up. No confusion like so many detectors what they are..

Well now, after watching all of these "Tone" vid's, you so wonderfully did, I have come to the conclusion that I need to save all my spare change so I can get a CTX 3030. It is by far the best, with its different & distinctive tones for different metals. Have you ever thought about teaching a course on Metal Detecting? Thanks again for making ALL of your videos.

+Richard Frazee That video was made with the factory beach setting. With the CTX you can create and save your own programs with the settings and tones you like for different metals.

Its been years since I've metal detected I had a Minelab Ecal II for three years here in Clearwater Fl and used to clean up on the local beaches then every one and there brother was out here hunting so I let it go plus I just did it for exercise to get back on my feet after knee surgery ..Here I am getting the bug again so I purchased the CTX3030 Just played around with it a few time and I love to hate it ..lots to learn ..I didn't like the tones at first and was hoping that the #'s would help ID targets better cause my hearing is not all that good. By the way I ended up with two CTX3030 long story but one is barely used from E-Bay and the other Brand new ..I've decided to let the new one go its on e-bay ends 6/26/2016

I have both the excal 1000 & the ctx 3030. At first, after using the excal for some time, I hated the ctx but after about a month of using it I actually prefer it. Why? Because it simply has WAY more features. If you're at an area and it's simply blasted with pennies (not always recommended) and short on time, when you come across a penny (12.36 to 12.37) click on the checkmark when your over the penny .Then click the same button again. It will now discrim pennies. Move on. Same with tabs or whatever you want. I don't pay to much attn to the tones and in fact hunt in reverse. My high tones have been set to gold signals. That's just the way I like it..... If I get a double blip and its anywhere from 12.03 to 12.30, i dig it. I pretty much dig anything that's double blip except 12.01, 12.02... only because that's usually aluminum wrappers. Ive also learned to dig a double blip even if its a 11. something IF it's deep because once you start digging that 11.15 turns into a 12.15 etc... seems to me the # right of the decimal is more accurate than to the left..... But if you seeing a 2.15 walk on.....

+kevin43324332 Great info thanks Kevin. I'm in that learning curve that you went through and I got so used to the Excalibur II tones. I will take your advice and make a few changes. Also I do think the CTX finds deeper targets but then again the CTX has Gray Ghost headphones vs. the stock (yellow) on the Excal.

+R Adams to be honest, grey ghost SUCKS with the ctx. simply go get some cellphone ear buds and a 1/4" to 1/8" amp mic adapter at a music shop for about 5 bucks. plug it in the ctx and the buds to that and it will blow your eardrum out... for water proof phones u can mod some water proof buds w some ctx connectors or get some muffs and deal with the lower volume...

how long does it take to get used to the tones and what they mean? do the numbers help you identify the object before you dig???
@RAdams
9 жыл бұрын
+jetegtmeier71 This was a default setting and I'm still learning but it looks like anything between 12-01 and 12-40 something is most likely gold. The tones are not helping me but they are adjustable as well as a lot of the functions. I got so used to the Excalibur II tones and would like to program the CTX to get close to them.

Complimenti !! Ottima presentazione CTX 3030 su valori oggetti che si possono trovare in spiaggia ( a volte certi valori si tralasciano pensando sia spazzatura) Interessante dimostrazione :-)) Ciao Endriu

Did the A T Pro go in the closet? Enjoyed the strange sounds again. I tried the Explorer about 3 years ago and just couldn't get use to it. Pretty sure Minelab replaced it. Keep the good video's coming.
