It is, but my left tires were in the ditch at 2:30. In retrospect, I should have had the camera placed so that part of the hill could be seen better. The real test was from 4:25-4:35. Just as steep, but further up the hill. It didn’t slip, but it sort of wanted to. We had massive rains and flash flooding 24 hours before this, but it had been windy all day. The grass was dry, but the ground under it was still wet and soft. You can see that I sped up at the tail end of that pass, then celebrated a little when I completed it. I was actually not planning to do that pass before it dried out more, but decided to at the last minute. Was very pleased that it held. If you have experience with a zero turn on a side hill, you should have no trouble doing it with this mower. If you don’t have the experience, start slowly and don’t do anything dangerous until you get a feel for it. Sticking to the side of a hill on one of these is less about the mower and more about technique. Thanks, and happy mowing!

Thanks! We like it. They just built a house in our front yard, which is kinda stinky. But it is a cute house, I guess. Most of the view is still intact, but we can’t see into downtown like we used to.

How is the transmission holding up? The internet tells me that I need a full blown commercial mower if I have hills, but your mower appears to handle quite steep hills pretty well.

It is fine so far, but I haven't been running it all that much. Shortly after I got this mower, I ended up caretaking and eventually inheriting my dad's big Gravely commercial zero turn, and I gave the Cub Cadet to my mom because it was so much easier to use. It is still running as well as ever, but she runs it pretty level.

Thank you for sharing this!! Really helpful. I have a slope of 11 to 14 degrees in my yard and I’m trying to find out if this mower is safe for those angles. Do you know what is the steepest angle you mowed with the ZT1? You can download an angle finder to your smart phone, place it on a ruler or strait piece of wood and measure the slope on a couple of spots?

E Soliman I measured angles up to 22 degrees in my yard. Check out my other video on this at kzitem.info/news/bejne/kYicuWyAb6SZeIY . Good luck!

E Soliman Glad to help! If you haven’t run one of these before, there’s a bit of a learning curve when you get started, particularly on the hills. So don’t get yourself into any situations where it would be dangerous to slide all the way down until you get good and comfortable with it. I got myself into a couple of ugly situations early on with my first zero turn that could have gone horribly wrong. Be safe, and good luck!

Merritt Skid Steer Services thanks for the advise! No experience with zero turns. However, thanks to reviews like yours they seem to be the right tool for the job. True..will have to build confidence on the flat part of the yard

Why not try using some weed killer, followed by some basic "over seeding", would go a long ways in improving the lawn.
@MerrittSkidSteerServices

Over the years I have noticed that some things you really commit to expending whatever time, effort, money, etc. that it takes to accomplish something, and for other things it is more like “it would be nice if...”, but you really have no intention of seriously committing to it. For example, it would be nice if I had a beautiful weed-free lawn. 😉
