Cuban style boxing isn't boring. It's elegant and intelligent.

yeah but when you consider the fact they rely mostly on points to win it becomes way less exciting when you compare to styles like the mexican style

Waits a lot for explosive counters reminds me of Yoel Romero the Cuban middleweight from ufc

Thats because Thats what Cuban boxing is supposed to be. Yoel Romeo I believe also practiced some boxing when in Cuba and thats probably why he is so good with counter punching and patient on his opponents openings and weaknesses, Cuban boxers are taught in a young age to learn how to utilizes speed and legwork and are taught to use good head movement and sharp reflexes. And when they get there opponent’s off balance or they see a opportunity to to attack, they utilizes they’re immense speed to deliver explosive blows. The motto of Cuban boxing is “hit and dont get hit” but sadly like the Cuban government doesnt allow professional boxers many Cubans have to escape and when they go pro they are always out of there prime.

cuban style isnt boring, its how most fights should be and how boxing should be seen as an art not a sport to take sombody’s head off

Its so strange. In the UK the Cuban style is very well respected. In America, u tell someone you were taught the Cuban style and they look at u sideways. My grandfather was an amateur most his life in Cuba, went through boxing academy too. Which is like regular school in the day but after all u do is learn to box all your elementary years and sleep away from home. Grandfather taught me.

Kid chocolate was actually a pretty good example of Cuban style even tho it wasnt known at his time. He was a good counter puncher and was known for his speed and good keg work just like Cuban style.
