When visiting Spain, one of the cities that you cannot miss
is Cuenca. Located in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha, less than 2 hours from Madrid the Spanish capital, we take the opportunity to visit and share this charming place with you.
Considered one of the hidden jewels of Spain, the first thing that surprises you when you arrive is to find it on top of a mountain, with steep cliffs that border the city overlooking of the Júcar and Huécar rivers.
In this video we will show you the main attractions of this beautiful city, starting with the Hanging Houses, undoubtedly the symbol of Cuenca, suspended from sheer cliffs overlooking the Huécar river, that seem to be hanging in the air. To get the most spectacular photos, it is better to cross the footbridge of another icon of the city: the San Pablo bridge, where it is worth conquering the fear of heights and enjoying its impressive views.
Entering the narrow cobbled streets, we will show you another of the essential things to see in Cuenca, the skyscrapers of the San Martín neighbourhood, buildings that were considered the tallest buildings in Europe during the Middle Ages.
Located in the heart of the old town or center of the upper part of the city, we find the Cathedral and the Plaza Mayor of the city, surrounded by a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
In search of more fantastic views, we arrive at the Mangana Tower, one of the most notable monuments in the city and from where we appreciate one of my favourite views, with a perfect harmony between nature and the city.
Finally, we wanted to take the opportunity to visit the birth of the Cuervo River, considered one of the most extraordinary places in Castilla-La Mancha due to its unique enchanting landscape.
We hope you like the video, and we encourage you to continue with us 🔔Sharing Places.
See you soon.
