My time playing shows and having to follow Crossed Out always caused a bit of anxiety. They were powerful and brutal and Tad just beat the f*** out of the drums. Those were the days

Thank you so much for recording these conversations. I used to do sandwich shifts at the Che with Justin Man of Sloog when I was an overseas student studying at UCSD for a year. It was 93 to 94 so I arrived during a chaotic hiatus at the Che when the only gigs were Physics and later Unwound. I feel I’m late to the party discovering The Locust, but I don’t think all the bands you talk about would ever be possible without The Che. Thank you!

Thank you so much Justin for this! The reason I discovered Crossed Out was because of The Locust. You have always been very vocal about how Crossed Out is a LEGENDARY band and huge part of SD. The first crossed out 7" inspired my music overall. From the drumming to the vocals. I owe my life to Crossed Out for making my life a lot better and guiding me to play drums till the day I die. Crossed Out also taught me something that many bands lack: PURE ANGER! Nothing will ever compared how pissed off Crossed Out was and will always be. Crossed Out is the best band out of the 619

Really enjoyed this! I don’t recall ever really reading too many interviews with Crossed Out so this was interesting! PS I used to think the same about GG Allin, but the record to check out (that has the great songs) is the first lp - Always Was, Is And Always Shall Be 👍🏻

Funked Out record, please!.....that'd actually be pretty dope. haha Crossed Out was, and will always be one of my absolute favorites - if you hear them, and don't immediately vibe with that level of sheer intensity and bone crushing rawness......I just feel bad for you, you puddin' ass herb. I'm just glad that Crosses Out was able to make such an impact, that there are now basically Crossed Out-worship bands, who are great flag-bearing representations, of that sound - the band/recording project/one-man-band, Internal, being one of my personal faves.

trevor vaugn is an absolute mad man internal and his other project wound man are the two best bands carrying the crossed out torch right now. other bands through the years like scapegoat and mind eraser were some of my favorites as well.
