Today we'll talk about the differences and features of our cultivator sweeps. SKR official website - msk.skr-grup.ru/
Here you can see two similar 45х12 spring-loaded racks with the sweeps mounted on them. The green rack has the SKR sweep, on the black rack there's a foreign manufacturer's sweep. What makes them different?
Our sweep's nose is elevated relative to the horizon line. What is this for? The thing is, when a spring-loaded rack starts operating, it will tilt backwards, and the sweep will stay on the horizon line. This will ensure that the entire cutting edge works equally, removing weeds completely. The nose of the sweep made by a foreign manufacturer is lowered down. What does it mean? When a cultivator starts working, the rack will tilt backwards, thus changing the sweep's approach angle. The cultivator sweep will work incorrectly: only the nose will work, while the rest of the sweep will not, leaving uncut weeds.
Now we'll carry out impact testing.
Note the cutting edges of the sweeps: they have no notches. SKR sweep vs. another Russian manufacturer's sweep. Here you go.
As we see, after hitting our sweep, only the paint came off. Here we observe very deep notches. The same sweep vs. a foreign-made sweep. As is seen, after hitting our sweep, only the paint came off again. This one has notches. They're smaller than those on the previous sweep, but they're still present. And now, for fairness, let's switch the sweeps.
Look at the cutting edges. Nothing has changed: this one has notches, and here only the paint is missing.
As we see, there is also only the paint coming off on our sweep. This one has deep notches.
