I just spun a bearing in my 1990 Civic. I cut strips of sand paper and then folded them in half length wise. Then used them to sand and polish my rod journal. Started with 400 grit and ended with 2500 grit sand paper. Plastigauged it with new bearings and shimmed my oil pump pressure relief valve spring with 0.1" of washers to bump oil pressure up. Runs good. But this only works if the rod and crank didn't get to hot and warped.

Did she make wierd screething noise off and on.? Wondering if i just have a bad oil pressure sensor. My new truck says about 2psi but i unplugged the sensor and replugged it back in and went to 40psu then dropped back down to 2psi when sitting idleing. Sick of this shit box already

15 oil pressure at idle or at load? Mine has had 15 psi at warm idle for quite some time now and im trying to determine where i should start with it. I'll be at a stop light with 15psi and as soon as i touch the throttle, oil pressure will come right up to 40 psi. cruises at around 45 psi. 260k miles

15 is to low. You should be seeing 20+ mine cold in -40 goes up to 90 with compound turbos now and driving is 40-60psi, and idle is 20-30psi

@@EsakinDieselPerformance thanks for the reply. Should I go ahead and take the oil cooler out for inspection? I see a gasket set is only $24.79 on rock auto. I’d replace the relief valve as well while I’m there.
