Thank you for your videos, we are going on the 10 day from Vancouver on June 21, the packing seems complicated as it seems temps can range from winter coats to shorts. Your reviews are so helpful!

One comment. I loath open or anytime dining. I enjoy the same wait staff every night. They get to know, quickly, your likes and dislikes. We had an awesome table on my most recent crossing in December on QM2. Friends for life. You don't get that when you eat anytime. I had to suffer through that on a Princess cruise in October. I ate alone most nights. No more Princess for me. Try a crossing.

We all have our individual preferences 😊 I know most people love sharing a table and having a set dining time. It’s true that you do get to meet people that way and your servers. I personally find assigned dining difficult, as cruises for me aren’t really a vacation like it is for everyone else. I still have to work, which usually can be later than an early seating time so I miss it, but a late seating is much too late to eat. Anytime dining at least gives me the chance to dine when I can without stressing about a time if a work call goes overtime, and they usually have an option to join a shared table. Hopefully this makes sense 😊

When sailing with Cunard in Australia, the dress code is not so strict. If you do forget a tie, they can be purchased in the on-board shop. Having just disembarked a cruise on the Queen Elizabeth and being a vegetarian, I found all the food choices excellent.

Thanks so much for watching! Unfortunately the shop wasn’t as stocked during my sailing and didn’t have tie options for men if they forgot one, glad to hear they have some now. I’m glad as a vegetarian you found some options, my colleague is vegan and found it quite difficult food wise on our sailing with Cunard.

with regard to food, I was on the Queen Victoria in 2022, and I made a bad choice for my main course in the Britannia. I did not like it at all. I asked for something else, and they brought me a new main course with no quibbling.

Yes they did offer that, however I have a seafood allergy and the other choices that evening were just not really what I wanted. Believe me, over the course of the cruise I did not go hungry lol

I appreciate your honest review here :) TBH, it made me a bit nervous as I recently booked an Alaskan cruise with Cunard in July. Am hoping things have improved since your trip - I guess we'll see. Question: what kind of clothing would you recommend for the port days? Are the temperatures high in Alaska or moderate? Should I bother to pack walking shorts for the sunnier days? Thank you.
@WanderlustJourney
Жыл бұрын
Alaska can get warm especially if it’s sunny. I always recommend packing layers and if you are travelling in the summer, you may want to bring that pair of shorts. It will be cooler when you’re near glaciers as the wind is coming off of the ice, however in some of the ports, it can get to weather where you will be in shorts and t-shirts on a nice day. Hopefully that helps?

I prefer traditional early dining, when my mom and I got stuck with late dining one time, I did not like that. I do not like the Princess dine my way, I prefer to have my dinner time set. I don't want to deal with reservations and standing in line for open seating. I like the same waitstaff and tablemates every night.

Thank you so much for your great videos;-))) love your voice 😍 I live in Los Angeles, CaliforniaI. have been wondering which is the best cruise line for Alaska; my husband and I are passionate about ballroom dance. We want to make that we can dance while at sea. Is this an 8 days cruise, btw? How do we know which meals are included on the ship?
@WanderlustJourney
Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! If ballroom dancing is important to you, Cunard is the line for you as they have dancing every night. Meals are included on the ship in the main dining room, the buffet, afternoon tea, etc. The specialty restaurants are additional charge. I did the 7 night cruise (8 days) last year, however Cunard primarily does the 10 night Alaska cruises.

How are the Gluten free options on Queen Elizabeth?
@WanderlustJourney
Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! As I’m personally not gluten free, it wasn’t something I was looking for. That being said there were labels that items were gluten free on the menu as this was something I noticed. I always make sure my clients have notes on their file regarding any dietary restrictions as it’s important they’re aware.
