I remember the days when the Backhoe Loader was king, Iv seen the kind of jobs you can do with a Backhoe, a good operator and maybe a man on the ground. I started as a kid watching Backhoes on nearby jobsites, even the sounds would interest me, in the late 90s I started operating Backhoes and a few years later bought my own. Now...I operate Excavators, Dozers, Dumptrucks, Screeners and Crushers, but I still make time for my Backhoe, which is where it all began! 😊

Don't tell your wife but they do make kerb stone lifters which are not too expensive to hire/own - Kerbing is heavy going, done it myself 😀

Great job with the Turbo wider bucket,a little bit at a time as u are,take too much and get a spin and it time to drag it all back again,my job in the late 80s and 90s on the 3cx and the Drotts,all 360 big wide ditching bucket for me now,Good to see it done that way again,I'm not far from you too in Ossett 😀🤙

Hi Michael, Thanks for watching - Yeah the turbo is the only way to go if you 'really' need to use the machine to its full petential, you can also move a lot of material with the front bucket being 8 feet wide, thats like having a ditching bucket on a 30ton excavator! Yes, you may see one of my vehicles around, or be lucky enough to be stuck behind my Backhoe😁

Nice work mate. What’s the rough daily running cost on that?
@PSExcavationsLLC

Thanks for the comment. Most Backhoes with a turbo engine will use around 10-15 gal of fuel a day, depending on how much roading you do and how busy your working, some days it's been 5 gal. If local and not doing much heavy stuff. 2.5 gal engine oil on 300hr service plus filters. Hope that helps! ☺️

Very nice 3CX you have, can you tell me please what tyres dimensions do you have on front? They look very good.

Hi, Thank you very much, it has taken some hard work at times to keep her in this condition. But the machine is very realiable and used most weeks full time! The tire size is 365/70R18 on the front which dont just look good but offer good traction on soft ground and dont sink in so much.

This and most full size backhoe loaders are 8 ton and will use the same size buckets as an 8 ton excavator. 3CX use 45mm pins. 👍

Hi Robert, Thanks for watching! Yes this is a little different, from concrete casting curb and gutter which is how it would normally be done in the U.S. and Canada from what I remember. It is sometimes done that way in England too 👍
