The 18th century folly of Mow Cop, a familiar landmark for the folk of Staffordshire and Cheshire, was originally built in medieval style by the lord of Rode Hall. Today, the folly is closed off due to the steep cliff on one side but the viewpoint next to it and the surrounding area is a popular spot for dog walkers. The top of the hill affords a remarkable panoramic view over Stoke-on-Trent on the one side and the Cheshire Plain on the other. Bring a pair of binoculars, a good telefoto and wide angle lens and enjoy the view!
