As usual: stunning eye-catching pens ! Bob Dupras is the clear winner 🙂.

Wow, those really are beautiful pens. I never knew the effort and time that went into making these collectible pens. I’ve learned a lot from you. Very nice collection you have. Thanks for sharing.

@@ToddEWalnuts thank you so much. Yes, a lot of time, effort, and thought goes into these pens, as well as a lot of expensive shop equipment. Bespoke pen makers are always trying to add something new to their inventory, so as to keep customers interested, which means creating new designs and looking for new materials to work with. Fordite, and Oparex are two of the newer materials that are being turned into pens. I don't have either one...yet! I like to watch pen turning videos on KZitem. There's always something to learn.

Hi Teresa - I usually tend toward a broad nib but I could tell by watching you write, how smooth that EF Asvine writes! :) The pen body I like best is your Zodiac Pen Company Alexandrite and the ink too really stands out! I have a sample of that ink ... I know I'll be locating it today lol. :)

@@ChrisSaenz13 hi, Chris. I'd kind of accepted that I might not like that EF nib, but it's very pleasant; not dry or scratchy at all. The Alexandrite ink is one of my favorites to write with, but boy is it a pain to clean a pen that's been inked with it. Not so much the actual cleaning of the pen, but that my fingers get stained by touching the pen parts. One of these days, I'm going to remember to wear gloves for cleaning pens.

If your Asvine fountain pen brings a Bock nib (bigger 1.7g) maybe the experience is not so great unless you make some fine tuning but the Asvine nibs (smaller 1.5g) are good, too good for a low or medium range price brand. Note: On Asvine fountain pens never swap a Bock nib and feed for an Asvine, the machining have slight differences that can end on ink mess same nib brand no problem. Sorry if my English not so good. Test was made with a V200.

@@MiguelDeMarchena I've never been a fan of the Bock nibs. I think I have one; which is very good; but it was a replacement for a Bock nib that was very bad; skipping and scratchy. So now when I'm given the option of getting an Asvine or a Bock nib, I always choose Asvine. I've watched a number of reviews where a Bock nib would need tuning in order to make it write properly. I think Visconti: at one time; used Bock nibs. Mabe that's where Visconti got its bad reputation from.
