Presented by Carolyn Strong on January 23, 2024.
At its inception in 2010, Ighodaro and Wiggins defined curriculum violence as, “the deliberate manipulation of academic programming which compromises the intellectual or psychological well-being of learners.” Over the years we have come to know that intent matters very little when gauging the impact that curriculum violence has on learners. In this webinar, we will unpack how curriculum violence serves to create additional harm to marginalized groups within what should be the safety and sanctity of classrooms.
