Yep. Most will work with you as long as you show that _you_ are willing and take it serious. Most that pull these stunts without ever paying usually have the money. They just don’t want to accept the responsibility that they have to pay it. It’s always the “I don’t have the money, I can’t afford it, life is so tough, woe is me…” lines and can’t manage money to save themselves if their life depended on it… the wants come first, necessities much later with those types. The county jail where I live is horrible in terms of making you feel stagnant, no programs were offered and they never let us outside for rec when they were supposed to, sometimes you'd go months without feeling the sun on your skin. Since inmates were literally at a stand still which deteriorates your confidence and causes a ton of mental problems, a lot of them take the plea deals and admit to crimes they didn't commit or ask to be sent to state prison just to get out of that mind numbing environment. It's like a revolving door money scheme, arrest those who did nothing illegal and put them in an environment that they'd rather plea out of just to get away from it and then force them to pay thousands of dollars. Of course not everyone there is innocent but falsely arrested people do exist.
