The test of a great song is if it’s just as good on an acoustic as it is with a full band, and EWTRTW checks both boxes. One of, if not, the best song of the 80’s.

I took amazing amounts of abuse for liking these guys in the 1980s. For those old enough to have experienced it , the music you listened to determined your place in the tribal jungle of mid 80s high school life and if you liked Tears for Fears you weren’t going to get along with the football team crowd. TfF were a little to “vulnerable and sensitive “ for the baseball cap Black Sabbath t shirt wearing set. I’m happy to say I never let that stop me from liking them and it’s good today to see them still out there doing what they love. Loved this performance and glad to see its Curt “the quiet one” doing it.

She (Diva) is very very fortunate to have a musical father, but, more importantly, one who (obviously) encouraged her, and thought of her as someone special. (Not all of us HAVE this love and guidance). Sometimes (as kids) we'd just get kicked, or beat up for just being alive. I always liked this song. For those who haven't been through a hard time, please don't comment. You will become boring.

Welcome to your life There's no turning back Even while we sleep We will find you Acting on your best behavior Turn your back on Mother Nature Everybody wants to rule the world It's my own design It's my own remorse Help me to decide Help me make the most of Freedom and of pleasure Nothing ever lasts forever Everybody wants to rule the world There's a room where the light won't find you Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down When they do I'll be right behind you So glad we've almost made it So sad they had to fade it Everybody wants to rule the world I can't stand this indecision Married with a lack of vision Everybody wants to rule the world Say that you'll never, never, never, never need it One headline, why believe it?
