Custer's Last Stand, also known as the Battle of the Little Bighorn, took place on June 25-26, 1876, in Montana Territory, USA. It was a significant conflict during the American Indian Wars, where Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer and his 7th Cavalry faced a coalition of Lakota Sioux, Cheyenne, and Arapaho warriors led by Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse. Custer's ill-fated decision to divide his forces and engage in a reckless attack led to a devastating defeat for the U.S. Army. The Native American forces overwhelmed Custer's troops, resulting in the death of Custer and nearly all of his men. The battle became a symbol of Native American resistance against the encroachment of white settlers and remains a defining moment in the history of the American West.
