I'm really enjoying this kind of video. It's nice how it just feels so real, just normal everyday life

Man I've just built mines, it's for tweets and mids of focal flax. Aimed at the opposite headrest as I want to still have my passenger enjoy the music somehow properly. It is still quite on axis for both of us rally. It was fun to make pillars (same pssound method with wood and body filler) but damn man I hate the upholstery and I messed it up and in concave zones it peels off because of the tension. Yours will be easier, make sure to have fabric with elasthane in it and make sure to put a good amount of glue on fabric and on pillar otherwise it will be a disaster like mine. Cheers! Those alpine status looks fantastic!

Going forward, you can rough up the plastic with course sand paper to help with bonding. Remember, you are going to be sanding ALOT after the fiberfill. You can also build up you're front with the wood, then cut out the back for the clearance.👍

Looking good brother. Im starting my 1st pillars build tomorrow. Im carpenter, I have similar craftsman experience and a ton of tools, so I may have an advantage on you there. But Im impressed with your pilars so far. Not bad at all for your 1st go around. Thanks for the video, very helpful.

I have watched quite a few of these A pillar builds on KZitem before finding yours. Your has to be the most well explained I have seen yet. This stemming from the explanation of the aiming which none of the others have done.

Fantastic achievement mate and I like your attitude the way you said that people will make mistakes and that's how you learn, very reassuring and makes me feel that I can give it a go and doesn't matter if I mess it up 🙂👍

Nice! I did this to my A-pillars following Peter's method, took me a very long time (granted i didn't work on it that much), but 500 years of sanding incoming.

Turning out nice for your first pillars. I've been looking for some from a junk yard for my car that I can cut up but can't find any, and new ones are $160 each. But yes, I have a pile of equipment waiting to install since spring, but family life. I'm hoping I can start it before it gets cold out, but I'm not sure. My last install took 6 weeks because if the limited time to work on things.

Ive seen where people makes a replica pillar from resin amd fiber glass and then use that to build on and wrap it woth the oem material instead of risking it on OE pillar.

I was going to paint my pillars, when I was building them. Because the pillar (like yours) has a textured finish from the factory, I would have had to cover the whole pillar in filler to get a consistent finish with paint. If I were to do it again, I would wrap the pillars.

The thing I love about making custom speaker locations work is the buzz you get after you see something really nice coming together. I bet it was hard for you to stop after getting those tweeter builds mocked up.

Nerijus, do often have passengers in the car? If so do they noticed the compromised sound from the passenger seat?
@RAW-CAt
Жыл бұрын
I am selfish in tht way. If I will build a high end system, I want to enjoy it 100% and I personally don't see the point of sacrifising performance for both seats to sound mediocre. I have a passenger side tune with EQ and timing adjusted for the passenger. Only downside is the top end that for the passenger is falling off above 10k.

More on axis... because you are the one thats 90% listening in your car. Thats what I also would do. But didnt you have the Satori drivers? What I was wondering; did you play with aiming the mid driver? I like your horizomtal placement in the dash, but with some drivers (or cars) firing on axis instead of to the windshield sounds better... Downaside is its so obious visable... For a classic car that I have it would be so much nicer horizontally like you did, but on axis sounded better; in that car... I dont know what to decide... Both have advantages. I am curious, Goodluck with the fiberglassing... I always like that part!

@@explorinlearnindoing5462 for me it's more like 99% of the time I'm alone😁 I have a video about midrange aiming. I will be using same locations in the hash, however I will be tilting the mids about 30-40° for better response. And I won't be fiberglassing, just using body filler👍
