I've said it before and I'll say it again- You will appreciate the bit of weight sitting above 3,000 ft lbs of torque. It's going to be super planted and rip like mad and you wont have to worry about the frame shredding itself to bits. That said, it's not so heavy that it will encumber the motors. They way it squatted on those vett coils told me everything I needed to know. You guys nailed it. I had one of these square bodies with a 454 and let me tell you it was fast but did not handle well at all because it was too light in the rear and whipped like mad. Anyone who has built a functional rear suspension for these trucks will tell you it takes a lot of metal and bracing back there to balance it out. None of them had 3000 ft lbs of torque either.
@dangerouskoin4874
3 жыл бұрын
My guess would be 3800 lbs complete.
@SalvagetoSavage
3 жыл бұрын
Everyone at the shop asked Tim multiple times "do you think the weight is going to be an issue" and his response was always either "I don't think you realize it won't be as heavy as everyone's thinking" or "even if it is super heavy, we're pushing well over 3000 ft lbs of torque with both motors, so I don't think we'll have an issue". If it is too heavy, then hey, we'll build the next one lighter lol

Torque steer will be an issue. Anytime you have unequal length drive shafts it will happen. This is why most car use a jack shaft with a carrier bearing on the longest side away from the trans in a front wheel drive. The shortest shaft will be the side to spin first. Now if you have an LSD in that front motor. Then it will be even crazier.
