Ryan, I feel your pain. There is nothing like having to deal with people who think they're so entitled. Customers who hold your money hostage and nit pick every little thing that has anything to do with what you may have worked on. They know that litigation is to time consuming to really bother with unless it is extreme. They are the ones who are guilty of breach of contract, and it doesn't matter how much you try to please them. They will never be pleased and they prey upon the really good business people who go the extra mile to please their customers. I could pay you so many compliments, but I think the best one I can say is, You Are a Good Man!

I love your attitude with this patch job. Its such a tough life lesson. I don't know how you see it. But for me in those situations, it isn't about the other person. I have to look at things like that, asking myself the question. "What is worth it to me?" I can take so many different roads. The most tempting is to give into resentment and spite. But I find I really end up hurting myself in the end. Often times, I get the most out of doing acts of service for others, specially if I REALLY don't want to do it. Going through that reminds me to be humble, that there is value in just doing for someone else. At the end of everything, how I feel about myself and my actions when I lay my head on my pillow at night is the most precious thing to me. I try not to live a life where I have to carry guilt or shame around with me. He's so right, its better to not make a big deal over it and do it for her.

I carry this advice with me in life and apply it to everything, I hope it will help. If it ain't working out, it's either of only 2 possibilities. You're not trying hard enough, or it's just not your time yet. At that point you can put your best foot forward and as long as you give it your all, you'll always have the reassurance that the ONLY reason is it just isn't your time yet. And the thing about your time, it doesn't expire until you do. So long as you're waking up another day, and long as you're trying your hardest, it's simply a waiting game. Everyone has their time. Ryan, I agree totally with your way of running your business, and having a good, honest and ethical accountant that has the same values and ethics as you have. >>>It says a lot about who you are, and why your business is doing as well as it is. >>>I wish you ongoing success, and it is nice to see you helping and giving Eric good advice, so that his You Tube can grow and become profitable.

@@letterzzz if you have hands on experience with anything theres a good chance you can start turning it into a profit right away. post some ads on local listings and facebook marketplace offering a service and theres a good chance you will get some business, and if you are good with people and good at the service you will gain positive reputation. some examples are grass cutting/line trimming lawns and snow blowing driveways, vehicle interior/exterior detailing, bicycle repair, small engine repair, vehicle service such as oil changes, tire rotations etc. that's what i did with bicycle repair 4 years ago. didnt make much the first year but i have made a steady increase of profit each year along with investing lots into tools. many of my customers are repeat customers so be kind to people and they will be kind back

I had a guy who did not pay for a job. I just chalked it up to experience. Well, that happened several years ago. The guy must have forgotten about not paying me. It was pleasurable to tell him i would not come and even give him an estimate, because he did not pay me for the job i did for him. Years ago. Never heard from him again. Not a loss.

I spent 8 hours on a dirt drive install was loaded up the guy says , it wasn't level ,and "had to tell" me how to do it , I told him I'm trying to keep water going down hill , but he didn't care , unreal .. I've got so many stories .., and many folks are so happy you came out and worked for them and ate honest ,, but the rich , control freaks horrible .. every time

He loves Daryl. That's obvious. And Daryl isn't a thief or drug addict. Ryan understands the concept of giving people a hand up. Not kicking them down. You can watch his channel over time and witness him making other people successful, not necessarily for his own gain. That's Christianity in practice.

Right on point about 1099’s and the Subcontractor Laws/Regulations. I Had a subcontractor who ran a booming business, but he was paying half his employees as subcontractor’s, and issuing 1099’s to them to save on Workman’s comp.,FICA ect…One of his *Employees* got clipped by an excavator bucket crushing his ankle, and snapping his Achilles tendon. The Subcontractor ended up on the hook (rightfully so) for the estimated 174K-200K in surgeries, medical bills, and rehabilitation for the guy that was injured. The Sub. filed for bankruptcy and shut down his business.
