Headbands are so much fun. You look adorable with the pink one. I personally wear them year round. Jeweled headbands are fun. All on Amazon. I love your videos. They are full of knowledge and your temperament is amazing. By the way, Karen I’m almost 71 and struggle with styling my wigs. I’ll get there soon. Practice makes perfect they say😉. Much thanks for your lovely videos🫶🏻🍁🍂🍁🍂😀

I don’t understand what you did to the top of your wig. Did you thin it out some before the video? I think this might really help me! I can’t be comfortable in my wigs.I’m way over 65! Your wig now looks so natural and not at all wiggy. Love the pink band. Is it a wig grip? I enjoyed this chatty video. And I have a lot of wigs to give away.

Hi Jeanelle, Yes. I did thin it out but never the top that would be exposed if you made a mistake. I wish I didn’t get so hot but sometimes even hats make me hot. I don’t know if it’s my heart issue, post menopause or just comes with my genetic makeup. Thanks for your sweet comments. I’ve used thinning scissors that “Patti on Patti’s Pearls” demos on KZitem. But I’ve made a few errors that way by confusing how to position the teeth of the scissors.

About a month ago I bought a wig called (freedom) from Godovia’s Secret. The wig is very pretty and good quality but has too much volume for me. I feel like a big bobble head when I wear it. Although I will admit I haven’t wore it maybe 6 or 7 times. I just can’t seem to bring myself to wear it in front of anyone I know. I have lost so much hair especially on top that I don’t have a choice but wear a wig. Just wish I could get comfortable with it. So I’m going to take my wig to my hairdresser this week and get it thinned out a little. And she is going to trim the bang. So hopefully I will be more comfortable wearing it. But it’s so hot outside I don’t know if I can handle it. Love your channel. Lots of good tips.

Hi Tam- I have that wig in cinnabar and totally understand. I pulled it up in a messy style and that helped. Just remind the stylist to work on the under layers and leave the top couple layers alone, then judge for yourself. Make sure she isn’t a Chatty Cathy and doesn’t pay attention. I do love the wig though. Let me know how it goes.

@@karenlipman79 thank you for the advice. My appointments tomorrow and I’m nervous about letting her mess with it. But I’ve got to do something so I can wear it and be comfortable. So I’ll watch her carefully and talk to her before she starts, so she will know what I expect.

That GS wig Freedom was the second I ever purchased. But as a smaller person with a short neck, it was too dense and too long. I thinned it and had my hairdresser cut the back neck. Then I cut the back a bit more. I ended up loving that style. I wore it for a year everyday and it looked very natural. I have bought it again, twice, but the color is too dark. I have that “hair mascara” coming in two light colors which I will use to add more highlights. Please do not give up on that wig. It is a very nice quality and you need to get your moneys worth. I do think you will love it, with some altering.

I agree about too much bulk and density. We need layers piecy light and light thin wefts. But not weird bulk. I like front layers curve around my jaw. I love good bangs and no longer than shoulder length.

Hi Karen! I will have to watch this a few times to completely get it but I thank you for these great tips. I have a Sparkle wig by Gabor that I love but one side is way to dense so I will try the small scissor trick. Would you tell me again which wig you are wearing? It's super cute on you. I did follow your example of cutting my sparse bio hair short...I got out my clippers and am happy with the result. I also perspire something awful right at the top of my receding hair line. I hate it! Sometimes as soon as I get in my car I pull my wig off and wear my pool hat with a cute brim. It has a semi open weave. So much more comfortable. Anyway, thanks for this great video. Love you!! 😘😘

I have problems with wigs being hot too. If I am outside in the summer first my head sweats. The entire base of my wig gets wet. Then my face gets red. Then sweat will run down my face. Not fun! I have several P Young wigs, the lighter version, that are less dense and cooler. Mostly, my head appreciates cooler weather. Thank you for your soft voice and really good reviews. Linda, everyday wig wearer for four years Thank you for the good ideas on donations.

This is an older video; so, maybe you have figured this out already. A wigs with 'permatease' which are a less expensive wig and are advertised as a 'basic cap' wig are hot to wear in the summer. A wig that is constructed with a hand tied monofilament top are much cooler. The issues with these wigs are they are more expensive. But, for the summer, they are the way to go if you can afford it vs. a basic cap wig with permatease. Here is an excellent video from Denise Sheets who does videos with excellent explanations of problems you may have with wig wearing. I am with you on this; I am at the beginning of my wig wearing journey, too. Here's Denise's video: Are Wigs Hot?? Here's the link to her video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/zXqBp4efsYeFhqg
