Thank you very much Mr. Block. I'm just starting to understand CNC machining but my instructor seems to make it much more difficult than it really is and I appreciate you keeping it simple.

Thanks bro. I just did a couple of projects every time coding by hand. I had to go back cause I forgot from which direction to figure out G41/42. Maybe 6 more programs using cutter comp and I will have that in long term memory. Programming a CNC is far easier than fixing it. Be thankful.

Good solid base, for those of you learning. ^ THIS! Once mastered it will become second nature. You will think in terms of this without worry of conflict. Well done guy's! Every time I have tried to explain this, blank faces. Nice. EDIT: As he said, if you turn it on, turn it off. Anything else will produce unexpected results.

Hi Jeff, Using your method I coded for two 50mm equilateral triangles 90mm apart - it worked perfectly. Then I thought hmmm I could code a subroutine and using parameters make the program more flexible. However, that's when it all went pear-shaped. It would appear that Mach3 can not handle g40 - 42 within a subroutine. Here it is: ************************************** (two 50mm triangles coded using a subroutine) (note: all sizes are in millimeters) G90G80G49 G90.1 #3=50 (triangle side) #7=-3 (Zinc) #8=6 (tool dia) #9=-36 (total depth) G0 Z2.0000 M3s3000 #1=0 (Xctr) #2=0 (Yctr) #6=0 (Zpos) G0 X#1 Y#2 (go to ctr of triangle) g0 x#1 y[#2-14.43-#8] z0 (go to start pos) m98 p100 L[#9/#7] (subr to cut 1st triangle) #1=90 (Xctr) #2=0 (Yctr) #6=0 (Zpos) G0 X#1 Y#2 (ctr of triangle) g0 x#1 y[#2-14.43-#8] z0 (start pos) m98 p100 L[#9/#7] (subr to cut 2nd triangle) M5M30 ; Routine to cut a triangle o100 #6=[#6+#7] (decrement depth of cut) g1 z#6 f50 g1 g41 x[#1-25] y[#2-14.43] p[#8/2] f300 (comp approach & goto material surface) G1 X#1 Y[#2+28.87] z#6 f300 G1 X[#1+#3/2] Y[#2-14.43] G1 X[#1-#3/2] Y[#2-14.43] g40 x#1 y[#2-14.43-#8] z0 (back to start pos) m99

it's a clutch or filler word for those who aren't good at public speaking. it sucks to listen to because that's all you hear and then you decide to tally them up instead of paying attention to what is being taught... along with all right, right, etc

Can you explain the difference between on the control when you use the full diameter of the cutter or when you put haft of the cutter or when not put nothing of the offset control

Where do I go to learn about using G41 on G02 and G03 commands I've got these curves that are not 360 degrees and am only used to going center to center. I was also wondering, what about if you had to plunge out a pocket, what would your starting point be. I really like how you made thsi stuff really simple and clear. Thanks

G41 = O.D. G42 = I.D. (on most machines) . Now give me the post 2009 HAAS code that recognizes it and where to put it because HAAS uses at least two R's. I think placement of the the R's is critical on this control. The Latter is cornering comp.) P.S. Thank you for this post I am I seasoned Journeyman, work huge hours and make "Fat-Stacks". The issue is that there is not enough well educated "New Blood" coming into the "Machining Industry". Think about it, look around. Damned near everything you see around you and use had a Machinist involved. Less than that is two sticks to make fire.

Rolltech Innovation manufactures machine coolant saver. Serious threats to productivity and health are bacteria and fungi which are commonly found in industrial coolants. This coolant bacteria filter has some advantageous features include: last a life time, with guarantee of extended life of coolant with bacteria filter - no consumables, no electricity, no chemical dosing, etc. It is a one time investment, ROI within 4-6 Months, Saves on input of fresh oil and disposal cost like etp treatment, or giving it to authorised recycler. These mineral oil based coolant are prone to generation of bacteria which produces foul odour, often from hydrogen sulfide [rotten egg smell]. Rolltech Innovation "Aqualogic" filter is an innovative and economical method of continuously controlling these micro organisms and the odour they generate. "Aqualogic" bacteria coolant filter consists of series of high-purity multi-metal fibres cased within a stainless steel tube. the dissimilar ions in the multimetal alloy bed undergo a natural electrochemical reaction, also known as an oxidation-reduction reaction. Which Kills the all the Microbial activity in the coolant 24/7 call us at +91-702-723-6191 or write to us at rolltechin(at)gmail.com Enjoy the coolant being running without changing it, just keep the coolant healthy
