Today I have been cutting back a willow tree on the middle lake, The tree has become quite large causing problems to the fishermen trying to use the platforms, although I would like to cut the tree down completely and allow it to re grow from the base the owner does not want me removing trees.
My initial plan had been to cut small branches with a pole saw and then pull them out of the lake, but after clearing some of the growth from the bank I found I could get into the middle of the tree and cut some larger trunk sections off, this had the benefit of making things quicker but it also meant the sections I was removing from the lake were much larger.
I managed to shred the majority of the branches, there were a few larger bits that were too big for the shredder, I will be having a bonfire with these later in the year. I was pleased with the final result of the tree, I hope I have got the balance right between clearing as much as I can, but still leaving the tree for the owner.
