I was thinking about this, it’s so refreshing, are there any planning laws at all for building on your land? It’s so controlling here in the UK! You can’t change your front fence without paperwork!

@@davewilson8308 From their initial build they did have to file a land use permit, which they did. But from what was stated there was no plan reviews or inspections in their area for the types of structure they were building. I suspect their Barndominium is considered a barn, and that probably factors in. In my area, building a barn on Ag property you can file an Ag exempt permit and it isnt reviewed or inspected but the building is to be used "only for storage". Unfortunately you also have to have 20 acers to file ag exempt, which I don’t. That is not to say their rules are the same, but there are cases where plan reviews and inspections are not required based on zoning and building type . If they ever do build a traditional stick built house on the property that would most likely have to be inspected

Regarding the metal storage (around 4:00 onwards in the video)... The inside of that shed will experience significant temperature changes over the seasons and even between a hot day and a cold night (think cold enough that dew will form on plants overnight). As such, whatever is stored in the shed will undergo many cycles of getting warm followed by getting chilly and damp. As a result of this, objects made from metal may start to rust, and you might get a moldy smell on canvas/fabric items. As such, I don't think it is a good place for storing items that you need for your child.

Very nice painting there “young lady”. We purchased some pretty nice quality vinyl windows, for our house, paid extra for dark brown color, to match metal siding the color of your shop/living quarters. It is a factory applied spray paint), pretty high dollar epoxy paint. 5yrs later I can see some minor effects of the heat & cold expansion & contraction. There are some “spider web” cracking/fractures of the paint, on the larger flat surfaces (not quite broken thru to show the white vinyl base product). Only time will tell on whether these cracks/fissures open up to allow moisture in behind and underneath, then freezing. We are pretty much directly east (100-miles) of you folks in NW Montana, similar weather as you. Great video, and video series, Thank you.
