Thank you so much for doing this video! Your diamond square on point says 3 5/16 square but you mentioned 3 3/16, which one should it be? Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the video, I have had my eye on this design for a while and wondered how to do it, you make it look so simple. I am wanting to make a quilt for my grandson, I just need to calculate how much fabric to buy, I am new to quilting and I think I am going to keep it simple, not too many patterns, perhaps just different shades of blue and a white!

Could we get clarification on the measurements, plz? Is it 3/16ths or 5/16ths? Has anyone figured it out?

I bought a Storm at Sea book it's awesome. Wendy Mathson. it has a lot of variations and different borders. I also bought the templates set b 2 pieces from Marti Michelle. Between the book and templates and videos I figured it out without really using measurements just the paper templates I made half the squares with fabric a set now I'll make them your much EASIER way the other half in fabric b set. Thank you. I still used the the diamond and triangle template

For the on-point square 2nd block, you say to cut that center square 3 3/16ths inch but the words on the screen say to cut it 3 5/16ths. Which one is it? I have been searching for a tutorial like this for many many years where I can just cut my fabric instead of paper piecing and instead of templates. Thank you so very much for this tutorial!!

You are BRILLIANT! This is my favorite quilt design by far! I'm just beginning, sort of. I'm currently making the Cool Water Quilt for my 17 year old granddaughter (kzitem.info/news/bejne/moCVk2l_iIikZZw) and the next quilt will be for my daughter. I want to make the Storm at Sea Quilt with various shades of pinks, salmon, and rose, with hummingbirds in the center of each block. I will try your way of cutting, it looks so easy! But I would like to find a way to cut the diamond in tact, and then just sew the triangles on the corners. One less step. Your quilt in the background is so pretty. I'll bet you have made lots of quilts! Thank you for sharing this video, you just made my life so much easier!

How many of each block to make Queen size
@lanethdick284
5 жыл бұрын
7 rows of 7 (diamond and square in square blocks) 8 rows of 7 sets of diamond and square on point blocks. That will give you a 94 by 94 inch quilt, if you add a 3 inch border. Queen size is 92" X 96"
